Default Century here too!!!

Well, today was my day. I have been hovering near the century mark for a while, but when we went to Jamaica, I gained 8 pounds! Took me a week to get back down to where I was before we left, and then this morning, I woke up and the scale gods smiled upon me. Century!!! I've lost 100 pounds!!! In 9 months...

I am humbled and amazed at my good fortune. Thank you Gerald for fighting to get me on your health insurance, Thank you Aetna for saying yes and not imposing the year long pre-exist.ing condition exclusion , Thank You Dr. Davis for operating on my very difficult case, and Thank you Family for putting up with my difficult times and pissy pouch. And Thank you to my TT family for all the love and support.

It's just so mind blowing how much my life has changed in less than a year. Everything about me is different. From the way that I look to the way that I think to the way that I feel about myself, I am 180 degrees of where I was on August 5th, 2007. As a matter of fact, that's just thinking linearlly...I guess I have to add a whole third axis to my analogy...

To all of the new post-ops, I just want to give you a little glimmer of hope. You are not the only person on the planet this surgery doesn't work for...and even though the weight loss seems slow right now, soon enough you'll be looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing a thin stranger staring back. Remember that plateaus are normal and healthy....and that they too shall pass.

The frustration of eating paste will not last forever, and eventually, you will eat pretty much anything, just in smaller amounts. ( And the definition of pretty much anything will change for you...your body will want foods that are good for it, if you make good habits now. As I type this I'm snacking on vegetables, believe it or not.)

Anyhow, those are my thoughts for the day. Century!!!!

Oh Deb I'm SO happy for you sweetie!!! I know this hasn't always been the easiest of journeys for you but look at you now!! Yes, you are a changed person outwardly but just as important you have changed inwardly. I still stand in awe today about how for the first time in my life I honestly feel "complete". From your post I think you get that too.

Congratulations!!

I love reading posts like this! You are my inspiration for the day. Just today, I was thinking about how bland my diet is, so it is refreshing to know that it won't last forever.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone!
