Three weeks ago I had my assessment call from my insurance company which I had to follow a bunch of rules in order to get the referral for my gastric. When I started I weighed 324lbs & today I weighed 303.6. My doctor, family, & co-workers were giving me high fives. So my doctor typed out the letter right in front of me saying that I had met my end weight goal. She also said that she supports my decision to have the surgery. My doctor told me that she was so happy that I am doing everything I can to improve my life.

She then gave me a copy of the letter they were faxing & just to be sure I faxed it too with a phone call to the case manager on top of it. So now I just have to wait which is horrible. I have so much energy I want to run a mile. The decision to do this has been the best thing I ever did for myself. So give me a little prayer that I do well with the work ups & that I get a surgery date!!!

I am sure that if you have come this far you'll continue to do well!
Just check, double check and triple verify all paperwork - a typo for any "number" could lead to vital misunderstandings.
During this stressful time, remember to continue your diet - your surgery will be all the more comfortable for the surgeon to perform.

Vim & Vigour - I know exactly what you are talking about. I've gone over everything I was told to do & my doctor double checked with me yesterday. So we both made sure I was following thru. My only concern is a note where it lists my allergies. My doctor said I had an allergic reaction to anesthesia when my daughter was born. That information was incorrect. I got sick because the doctor who gave me an epidural did it incorrectly. So I need to get that corrected with my doctor because I lived in another state & everyone told me in the hospital including the doctor that he messed up. I also need to get this information corrected with my case manager. I've had anethesia before with surgeries & after my daughter was born so I know that was not the case. So that is the only thing I am really concerned about.
