Default Natural Tastes

I know this probably isn't news for anyone on here, but I am really starting to truly appreciate the TASTE of healthier, more natural food. My tastes are definitely leaning more and more healthier and natural every day. The other day I tried a bit of hummus and a small piece of pita bread, and it was sheer HEAVEN. Then today I am trying some tuna salad and it tastes better than I remember too. So even when I get to regular foods, I know I'm going to crave the healthier foods right off the bat. This makes me happy. That is all.

I agree completely! That has been one of my biggest changes post-op. I can still eat things that aren't the best for me -- chips, alcohol, some breads, potato, rice -- but no longer have any desire to eat some of the things that used to be my favorites, such as soda. Soda is all chemicals and no nutrition. So my diet is still a constant struggle, but definitely easier due to fully appreciating the quality of the food that goes into my mouth.

I'm finding that the foods with the more intense flavor are what I'm craving. It's things like fruit, tomatoes, spicy foods, meals cooked with a lot of spices..those kinds of things. I find it interesting that alot of the cravings are the same cravings I had when I was pregnant. I seemed to crave healthy foods whenever I got pregnant like tomatos, fruit, tomato soup and cooked spinach of all things!! hmmm...I wonder if there is any correlation?

I crave tomatoes and I've *never* liked them.. even in sauces and whatnot, I'd pick out the chunky stuff

Now, I've bought some sun-dried tomatoes, I just don't know what to do with them!
