Default colonoscopy questions sorry

I have looked at the other threads and could not find the answer to my crazy question. This is my first colonoscopy and how do you know when you are clean enough?

In a nutshell, you're cleared out when you're peeing out of your bum - clear liquid - no bits.

Excellent answer, Corrine! Obviously you are experienced. ...Me too, that's why I know you are right.

I was terrified that I was going to have to have one before surgery, but thank goodness it didn't happen! However, the day I went to the doctor fully expecting it, I spent a day with the Maalox bottle the way drunks spend the day with Jose Cuervo. I couldn't have been more cleaned out. The Chrysler building was dull next to my, as Borat would say, "Ah-nus."

I'll pray that yours is uneventful and that the doctor complements you on your clean colon. I probably should stop here, though, because I can feel a vibe coming on that would end up being inappropriate for everybody here except for Omaha Jim.

Good Luck!

-Mike

Brandy,

Glad to hear you survived your colonoscopy.

I was petrified about having mine but as I was over 50 and having IBS problems prior to WLS, they decided the timing was good.

The doc promised me that I would be away with the fairies for the entire procedure. But nothing could be further from the truth. I laid on my side and watched what was happening to my innerds on a TV screen.

There was no pain - I felt nadda. The doc pointed out a little polyp which he removed, showed me that I had diverticula(s) but said that he was pretty happy with what he saw.

Cause of the small polyp (which he removed but lost!), I'm scheduled for another colonoscopy at 5 years rather than 10.
