Hi, I am fairly new to this site and you have stumped me. Am I understanding that you had a lap band surgery? And you got dehydrated? And what happened? One of my fears is getting dehydrated because I can very seldom get in all the fluid they say I need.

Dawn 5 weeks 5 days post op for bastric bypass.

Greetings Brandy,
I had my first colonoscopy this past Thursday.

The WORST part I thought was the stuff you had to drink to 'clean' you out. I had to drink magnesium citrate (UGH!) two days before and then a litre of Movieprep (double-YUCK) the night before the process and then again the morning of the colonoscopy. That stuff was soooooooooooo bad I was gagging so much while drinking it I was surprised I got it down.

You know when you are 'cleaned out' enough when all you do is 'pass' clear (in my case, due to the Movieprep, day-glo yellow) fluid.

The doctor was a jerk, though. I have small veins that collapse and roll when they try to put a needle in-the nurse was just trying to make conversation about it when the doctor strolled in and he made the comment that it was because my arm was so fat. I thought about telling him what a moron he is, and that I had that same problem when I weighed 96 (when I was 23), but I figured you don't want to p** off the person that's going to be sticking things up your rear end.

The actual process (not counting the doctors idiotic remark) was painless-due to the medication they give you.

I have to go back in five years for another colonoscopy... I promise you it will not be at that clinic or with that doctor.

I was actually just thinking of this because I am scheduled for one in August. It's my third due to a family history of colon cancer. Is the preparation different because we have gastric bypass? I can't imagine being able to fit in that much fluid.
