Pillow for the ride home.
I really wish I had a headband, or baseball cap. I suffered from major bed-head and had to wait several days to shampoo.
I needed more little gauze pads and surgical tape than I thought I would- had to send DH out for more.
I had the attention span of a gnat, what with the drugs, and the sheer toll that surgery takes on a body. Books were out, but magazines and coloring books were great!
Oh, the forum here is great for that short attention span; you can flit from topic to topic. I probably posted 500 times while I was home on disability!

You own shampoo, chapstick, hand lotion and my own underwear were a must. I had a week stay in the hospital, so I needed a few more things than some!

Again...CHAPSTICK was my #1 need in the hospital.
Then slip-on slippers with soles and undies/pads (if needed....), and deodorant! I also brought my own toothbrush...the hospitals are not up to par...I like to have actual bristles on my toothbrush! And a Harlequin love book...you can pick up and put them down anytime and still know what's going on!! Brainless reading...love it!

well i thought i had it all covered from lip balm to pillow and stuff but to the hospital i wish i would've took a diffrent crystal light flavor because the one they kept on giving me i got sick of and could not have more of and i needed my fluids but hospitals dont have variety and they expected me to keep on drinking that yuky flavor
for home what i had to send out and have some one buy for me because i totally forgot and never thought of but its very important is the dressing sponges for covering wounds and cleaning your wounds after showers and every day plus the tape specially the drain part to prevent infection my hospital did not provide some for home they only changed it during my hospital stay... so thats some ideas.. wishing you a fast and painless recovery

I am a jammy freak, so of course I took my favorite jammies and slippers. I was only in over night so I didn't really need much. Jammies, chap stick and music.

my family and my video camera.
I'm a footage whore what can i say. I recorded my entire weight loss process from begining to end even with plastics.
Pretty interesting to go back and watch real footage of you talking about what you are feeling and going through months later. I hardly even recognize the face staring into the camera these days.
without my family support who knows where I would have been. Without them im sure it would have been muuuuch worse.
