Hi Everyone,
I am 3 weeks out, and lost another 4lbs this last week, so total of 22lbs so far. Anyway, I saw a show called, i can make you thin,on the TLC channel at 9pm on Sunday. It this man called Paul Mckenna who helps people lose weight by 4 golden rules
eat when you are hungry
eat what you want
eat consciently
eat till your full
did anyone see this show, it will come on every sunday at 9pm on TLC, it was interesting, any opinions?

i thought his approach was interesting... but i don't see how it could work because if i followed rule #2 i would be 500 pounds by now! so yeah i disagree with his plan, but thats just me!

Thats what people want!
but when it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true, but think of how much money he's going to make before they figure it out??
We LOVE the sound of "Lose 100 pounds - Without dieting" "NO exercise" "Eat the food you love" . It is all bull.
You can't lose weight eating the same crap you always ate, as much as you always ate, continuing to sit on your ass. But people hate change - so give us the - "This won't hurt a bit" line of bull, we'll give you money, fail at this diet too, and then WE feel like shit while the guy who came up with the BS "diet" laughs all the way to the bank.
At best, this guy has some line of bull about listening to your body to know when you're REALLY hungry, etc. But if we were good at that, we wouldn't need him now, would we? The whole industry pisses me off. The diet industry sells hope but if you don't fail, they won't keep making money, so guess what...they set us up. If I really thought about all the money I spent on all that crap over the years? I'd never stop throwing up. I promise, it was a lot more than I spent on this surgery.
And if you really want to know what I think...lol.

I was going to watch it...but since it wouldn't help me since I'm post-op...I turned the channel.
But my MAJOR pet peeve is the commercial about "Akavar"...where you take the pill and eat ALL you want and STILL lose weight!!! And the say "We couldn't say that on TV if it wasn't true!"....RIGHT!

I agree with you all - I hate almost all commercials about weight loss, and I am glad to have Tivo in my life. It's a major life change to lose significant amounts (or even small amounts for that matter) of weight, to keep it off and to not replace food with other things... life would be great were it not so complicated... but it is, and food is my biggest complication. Dammit. So, no I didn't and won't watch it either, lol.

I sat through it to see if there was anything new to hear. The one thing that did resonate with me was when he said that overweight people spend so much time thinking about food.........EXCEPT when they eat it. That was so true for me. I still do not relax and enjoy my food. I am usually doing something else while I eat.....TV, reading, the phone, etc. So, that's the thing I took...a reminder to slow down, pay attention, and enjoy. I do plan on watching the rest for tips on exercise and such. But I agree, same old same old, and oversimplified.
