Last day of my regular food life...hehe
So today is the last day that i can eat like a normal person. I start my week long clear liquid diet to prepare for my surgery. I hope i dont get cranky.
I've already made sure to have the sweet stuff i enjoy the most. And we're going out for shakes tonight. Anything else you guys think i just must have that i wont be able to after the surgery?

wait wait wait....you arent required to only drink clear liquids for the week before? Lucky lucky!
Im not scared really. At least not yet. I just need to not be alone very much this week and right up until the give me the sleepy stuff. Its when im left alone to my thoughts that i get scared. But it will be so so worth everything.

I went to texas roadhouse for my last dinner too. Had a yummy steak, potato, it was super good. But I have been on liquids for 17 days so I don't think too much about food. The only good thing about the lqiuid diet is that I don't have to do the bowel prep. However...there are days that I would have loved to do the bowel prep and been able to eat rather than drink.

I thought the same way you are thinking now, but 2 years out from surgery and there is nothing that I can not eat (just smaller quantities). Some people can't eat certain things ever again, but you may be like me and be able to eat anything...so the hard part for me is to not eat them.
Good luck!

Girl my surgery is tomorrow, I am super scared. I just want it to be over, and me be ok. I want to wake up and see my dear hubby next to me. That is all I want tomorrow, from then I will take it day by day. But yes, I am scared.

everyone's surgeon does differently i too had to be 1 week on a liquid diet but that lasted about 3 days. (bad bad bad) truthfully girl i didnt miss that sweet stuff and I am/ was a sugar cake cookie freak! I'm 3 months post op and dont crave those cupcakes at all. So after surgery i think some of your old tastes will really leave and you'll find that its a breeze that you will love to sail thru

I agree with Cindy -- for my "last supper" I had tears in my eyes as I had one of my favorite meals -- a big plate of my stepmom's homemade taco salad...which I was then able to eat again 3 months later, but on a very small plate. LOL! I will say that with that last supper I had several alcoholic drinks, which I don't really like now. The alcohol really affects us differently post-op and it is not a good idea to drink too much. So, yes, desserts are something I don't have anymore, or carbonated beverages, so you might also want to get a daquiri or a rum'n'coke or something. Enjoy! And best of luck on your liquid phase.

Salad....eat a salad. I've been craving one for weeks. You won't believe how much you will miss it.
Even if you don't feel like it...eat one for me

Persephone, you can't eat salad yet? I had/have major problems with solids and I would have starved if it had not been for salad since I was about 5 or 6 months out. Try it. You may surprise yourself. I could eat more of it than anything else too. I guess because the lettuce turns mostly to water anyway. But man, it is GOOD! I eat cucumbers and tomatoes in mine to. I also add bacon, chopped up eggs, and tons of cheese for protein. Sometimes the eggs make me a little woozy, because they dont sit well with me alot, but they seem to do better in salad than anything else. Salad is a definite order for me when I go out to eat with the family or friends. It always works. Try it..........
