I think those are for the duodenal switch patients. When I went to a seminar at Alvarado, they said people who have the DS often smell like bowel movements due to the extreme malabsorption. They don't even perform the DS at many places anymore. As far as I know with the GB Roux en Y, there isn't a problem with this...at least I know that from my own experience.

Thumbs up also..

You will go through a period in the beginning called Ketosis where you do have some foul body odor.. but there is not much you can do for it. Your breath will stink (keep sugar free mints with ya) your urine sometimes stinks, and your bowel movements.. I even had to switch deoderants to the Mitchum because I couldn't get my armpit odor under control even showering twice daily .. so just so you know it is common but it doesn't last long.. just when you are seriously burning up fat.. that's all.. you get over it quickly and your family is thankful for that..

Thumbs up Thanks

Marcia,

I'm so glad you asked that question. I was wondering the same thing and now I know. By the way, my chart is still in dictation and I'm getting very impatient and edgy since I don't know one way or the other. I hope I know something very soon.

I didn't have any problems there at all. I think I have perspired maybe three times since surgery. I couldn't get warm for six months after surgery. I used to be hot at work all night long and now sometimes I think I will freeze to death before morning shift arrives.

Those pills I hear work wonders. Lactose intolerant people sometimes use this. It is an internal body deoderant. Christina makes it sound awful. I am sorry she had to go through that. If I had to endure that I would certainly have used that. I think it is also a breath deoderant as well, some people take it for chronic halitosis.

Hugs,

Traci

The pills sound a lot better than swallowing a stick of Right Guard.

You'd have to do the Macarena to click it up!

Do you need a prescription for that? And is it alright for us post-op people to use? If needed?
