Default Stevia

My Stuart is such a great guy and when the whole Splenda controversy came about he did some research on the whole issue. Now don't get me wrong, we both still use Splenda (me more than him) however, he also researched Stevia.. it is all natural and it comes from the Stevia plant and basically it is the leaves ground up or something like that. I didn't do the research so I don't know the whole story.. other than what he told me. There are no additives and no preservatives, no chemicals used to break the stuff down.. so basically it is 100% safe. You get this little jar of it and the scoop looks like a "coke scoop" if you know what I am talking about.. you are very bad.. lol Just kidding.. Anyway you use very little as it is very sweet. I just thought I would put this out for anyone who wanted something that was actually a natural sweetener and quite tasty to boot.

I don't know the long term effects from Splenda so I don't know if it is unhealthy or not.. but all the chemicals they use to break it down including I believe bleach.. well, I am willing to give all natural a try..

My experience with Splenda was when I was on the VLC diet (aka fast). I tried it and it triggered the most enormous sugar craving. I decided it wasn't a good idea when I was on the shakes. But now, Splenda is my friend. Don't know about after surgery though.

I'm way into the Splenda, too. My wife is SOOO into it that she brings packets of it in her purse when we're out, in case she is confronted by OTHER artificial sweeteners.

I have a co-worker who's totally enamored with Stevia. I guess you can get it at Whole Foods? I still haven't tried it, although she gave me a sample packet. She's kinda into really weird stuff though, so I'm always hesitant when she makes recommendations.

I love splenda. One of my co-workers awhile back got me to try stevia. I liked it so I went out and bought some, tried it, and hated it. I guess there is different brands plain or with fiber. The one she had was with fiber. I don't know if is was that or not but it kind of turned me off of it.

Default splenda

Well Irela and I use sweet and low. I dont really like the other stuff. Honestly havent tried stevia yet. We use sweet and low in our iced tea(what i will miss the most after surgery) We drink iced tea by the gallons. Went to the south last year had my first "sweet tea" that was good. So I guess I am a southerner also.....

I use splenda, as my first choice. I carry packets also, and I always have equal too just in case. At work they only have sweet and low, that stuff is just nasty to me. Splenda hasm't made me sick or anything. I have been using it for a long while now. I think since surgery or shortly after it.

Hugs,

Traci

Bill:

Why would you miss iced tea after surgery? You can drink it.
