Heart Burn? - Page 4 - ThinnerTimes

Well I had my gastroscopy on the 4th of this month and now I have to wait to see him on the 24th for any results if any. He is the type that he won't come and see me after the gastroscopy, he wants to see me in his office which is the 24th. So Now I have to wait until that time. The heart burn has gotten way worse since the gastroscopy. It is 24/7 non stop and very painful. Today has been the worse day. I went for a walk and it got pretty bad. It is now burning my nostrils and my tongue is numb along with my throat and stomach. It was such a gorgeous day and I wanted to go for a walk and so I did. Yah right. lol not going again. Tums, pepto, any acid reflux pills, sucralfate tablets (prescribed by my doctor), won't help with it. I have tried baking soda and water which helps it subside for about 10 minutes, but during that time my throat is so raw I am coughing. I also tried my uncles remedy of honey and apple cider vinegar which subsides it for a few minutes but doesn't get rid of it. Any suggestions? Does anyone have any house remedies that I can try? Sorry for being negative just been pretty rough since I got back from my walk.

Surgeon cancelled today for me to go get test results. Now I have to wait another week for results and another week of burning in my throat, nose, tongue and eyes. I guess I've waited this long what is another week. lol

that is just nuts....for him to be putting u off like that.

I did ask the receptionist why he had cancelled all his appointments but she didn't say. She just told me the time and date of the next appointment. Hopefully he keeps the next one. lol

I can't believe he's kinda leaving you in the lurch without some sort of relief. Thats just insane. I hope that he keeps your next appt. and you are able to get on something that helps with your heartburn.

I hope so too. If not I will be going somewhere else. I have had two problems since my surgery and the first problem he says will go away in a year or two and then this second one he won't even tell me if it is heart burn. It feels like heart burn but it is making my tongue numb, my nose hurts and burns plus when my throat is burning real bad my eyes hurt. Almost like I am in a 5 by 5 room with smoke burning at my eyes. So I really hope he doesn't shrug me off like the last problem. I've had to live with the last one and hope it will go away just like he says.

My doc prescribed prilosec for me ahead of time to take as a precaution. Do you smoke? He also told me that especially in young women that smoking can really cause an ulcer.

I have tried prilosec and many other medications and they are not working. My surgeon did give me sucralfate in case I have an ulcer. I have been taking them but boy they hurt like hell when I swollow them. I have to take them 4 times a day and it is suppose to coat my throat. But I don't like taking them at all. It is about an hour of rawness and high burning. My surgeon said they start taking effect after about a month so I am taking them in hopes that they will eventually help. I use to be around a lot of people that smoked but never smoked myself. Now everyone that is around me is smoke free. They quit so I am all good there. That's a good idea though I never thought of that. I wonder if second hand smoke could cause an ulcer? I am sure it would since it is just as bad as smoking. I was around a lot of smokers. Thank you very much for your input it is very much appreciated.
