What Zantac did you use? I use the Zantac 150 and everything seems to be fine and dandy

hi, I am also having this problem now for a week. heartburn, indigestion, water just seems to bubble up. I have tried hot, cold, nothing, zantac 150 x2 a day, gas x strips, maalox, pepcid, prilosec, a mint, tums, nothing is working. I finally broke down and called the dr today. He called back tonite but I didn't get to phone in time. I will find out what he says tomorrow. I hope you feel better.

Leah, don't let it go on for too long. Funny that you had early out and then not for some time. Not fun.
You say you are struggling with food. What issues are you having?

Whitney,
Sorry I didn't answer your question sooner. Been busy trying to find a job and just moved to the city. I am trying to get use to it since I am a country girl. Anyways, Dr. Farries put me on Zantac 150 at the beginning right after the surgery it didn't work. My mom gave me the other night just an acid reducer called ranitidine tablets, they didn't work either. I have it pretty much all day now I am getting use to it so I haven't been taking anything else for it. I know I have to get to the doctor. I will make an appointment on Monday.

I am sorry to here you are going through the same thing. Did you get a hold of your doctor? What did he have to say? I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you very much for the concern. I will make an appointment on Monday to see my doctor. I am struggling with food all together. I can eat anything and have no effects at all. I do get a heavy feeling but have ignored that most of the time. I know it is no excuse but the things that have been going on in the last 4 months with my jaw treatment, money etc, I have been pretty depressed so I let go and ate and ate. I haven't cared enough about myself and let myself go. If I did have signs I ignored them. It has been mind over matter and I have let my mind control everything. I wish that I can be the person that can't eat sugar, carbs, and only a 1/2 cup per meal. I just moved to the city with my mom because there is more jaw treatment in the up coming months. My mom is on Weight Watchers and she asked me to join and try it just to see if I can get back on track so for the last week I have been trying to follow that. That is pretty much the jist of it.

Leah, glad to hear you are seeing the doctor. Good that you can recognize the food thing...rememeber that you still have your tool, just go back to the basics and follow the rules....hard to do sometimes, but just remember the tool is still there for you. Support from your family (mom) is great!
When at the doctor, maybe discuss with him about the depression. Not having the fats and absorbtion that you have before surgery can cause you some depression. The seretonin at the brain and belly are quite different after surgery.
Wishing you the best girl...we are here for you.

I know this is a question for Leah, but I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I use zantac 150 that my doc wrote up for me. It works wonders. Turns out that I have a peptic ulcer.
And Leah, with the heartburn in the throat thing, it's nothing to put off. That's where I always get mine, and it's terrible. That's what prompted me to go to my doc. Am sure that your normal family doc may be able to help you out and get you on the path to being healthy.
*hugs*
Lori

Thank you Lori. I will mention the ulcer concern at my appointment. I just have to wait until Monday for them to be open to make an appointment.
Thank you everyone for your concern and I will be looking into it. I am also going to cut down on coffee and tea. I drink a lot of it. It is herbal and most of the time decaf but apparently my step dad says there is still a certain amount of chemical that will bring on heartburn and possibly ulcers. I also learned that Advil and stress can bring on ulcers. I take a lot of advil for my jaw pain so I am going to have to find something that isn't an antinflamitory (not sure how to spell that lol).
