aspirin vs. ibuprofen vs. acetominaphen
Okay, I am ashamed to admit that I am over a year out and never seem to be able to remember this, but I know there's at least one of these which we're never-ever supposed to use... Anyone out there know which one is a no-no?
Ordinarily I never take pills for anything except my BC pill and vitamins, but I seem to have developed the flu over the last couple of days, and I feel like I've been run over by a bulldozer... I want to take something for the fever and awful achey-ness, but I don't want to take the wrong thing. Suggestions, please?

Ibuprofen is a no no.
If you can find non-time released Tylenol cold then that should do the trick.

Only safe one there is the Acetominophen (tylenol) The aspirin and Ibuprofen are both NSAIDs and should be avoided.

Do you think it would be a good idea to print this list out and give a copy to every doctor I have so that they'll have it on my chart for when I get sick?

I think it more important that you print a copy and keep it with you at all times.
My surgeon and PCP are based in a large teaching hospital. It's rare that I get to see the same doctor each time.
It's also useful as a reference when you go to a pharmacy.
I was given Naproxen at 6 weeks out of surgery - despite asking twice if it was a NSAID. I was told it was ok to take!
From then on, I carried my list and referred to it when needed.

I asked that very question twice and still ended up with Naproxen and being told it was fine to take. I was very specific about telling the doc I'd had WLS just 6 weeks beforehand too.
I trust no one now.
