Decisions
Dear WLS Brothers & Sisters,
I have canceled my WLS.
For all of you wonderful angels, who responded & shared your stories of insight & courage, on my "I'm Freaking Out" plea, I want to thank-you. Your messages helped clarify the fact that, even this far along in the WLS process, I still had choices.
Your wisdon helped me to have the courage, to discuss my feelings about the surgery with my doctor. We talked for at least an hour yesterday at my pre-op. His insight & kindness helped me sort out my feelings, so that I was able to make a clear decision. The door is still open with him if I change my mind.
This decision is unique to me. I encourage all of you to go for it, if it is right for you.
I have 2 dear friends who have had WLS...they are thriving. They look & feel great.
For the first time in days, I feel right with the world & God.
My only regret is that I will not be a part of your amazing group of WLS brothers & sisters. I will follow your progress with hope & joy. I love each & every one of you.
((((HUGS))))

Having WLS is a personal decision that only you can make for yourself. If it is not right for you now, it may be in the future. Either way, please don't feel just because you have cancelled your surgery that you have to leave the forum. We still need you, and you still need us. The thing is.. we all have a common bond. Weather or not you have surgery is not the issue, the issue is that we all came from the same place and have the same ultimate goals in life.
You be sure to keep on posting my friend.. we need you!!!

I must say I am proud of you and I commend you for coming to a final decision with your self and God. WLS is a big step. If you have any doubt at all then I would have recommended the same thing. You know in your heart what is good for you. I wish you well and God bless you. HUGGS

Lei,
I'm so very proud of you! You are an amazing person to come to the realization that this is not right for you right now. It's okay. I hope you'll stay with us - we can help with diet tips, Lord knows we've been on every one. You can help others to make the decision that's right for them. All input is good.
I wish you all the best!

Lei,
I am stunned. This is first time I have seen someone cancel the surgery. If you didn't have peace about it, you couldn't do it. You can still join us, on the other side. You have all the right stuff now. You know how to act like one of us, you are one of us, now eat like one of us. I wish you all the luck in the world, and you stay here with us so you can be a testimony to others, that this weight loss surgery is no quick fix, and is not a decision to be made lightly. The fear of death and other complications is so overwhelming, it truly boggles the mind. The whirlwind, emotional ups and downs, in some cases the strain becomes too much and you have to back off and take a deep breath and let the peace come. If I hadn't had the peace I did, I wouldn't have been able to do it either. My mama died after an open heart surgery, 4 days in a coma, on a ventilator. Her surgery was necessary for life, but was also considered an elective surgery. I compared everything about her surgery to myslef and nearly drove myself crazy, and I really did almost cancel mine. Nothing happens by accident. Whatever happens though, God led you here to this site, and your wisdom and information may be all that you need to save your life. You can do it we know you can! you have the tool, you just missed the honeymoon period. Keep sipping and water loading. Live by those pouch rules for dummies.
Hugs you brave woman,
Traci

I agree with all the others; this is a very, very difficult decision and by no means should be taken lightly. I also canceled my surgery 2 yrs ago because of extreme fears, etc. I researched and searched deep into my soul for an entire year before I decided to go ahead with the surgery (which I had 10 months ago.) Please don't leave the group. We're here to support you and you're here to support us, regardless if you have surgery or not.
