Very interesting. I passed it along to my husband who continues to buy fully loaded ice cream for the kids to eat every night after dinner.

Thanks for the great link. That really worries me! I've got two girls (10 and 12) and the 10 yr old is like an eating machine! She is just a few pounds over weight now, but we all know how that goes. I agree with the article on the fast food and sodas being a big problem, but they left out a few others. Breakfast cereal is horrible! I never paid attention to the amount of sugar and calories until now (since you gotta read those labels). Instant oatmeal is bad too. My other big complaint is with the diet industry (BILLIONS of dollars a yr). Take this pill you'll lose weight, buy this book you'll lose, drink this drink you'll lose, and so on. I think the government should regulate this a little more closely. These creeps give you false hope and take your money. I estimate that in my attempts to lose weight I have spent atleast $45,000 over the past 10 yrs. The only thing I managed to do was gain more and lose money! Okay so I vented! Sorry, but really great info!

You know there is so many sources that has lead to America being in a "fat" state though. People cn't just blame themselves, well not always..... When you was a kid did you ever hear your parents or someone say... You better eat that, there are starving kids in Africa or where ever. Then the additives they put into food that makes us eat, it makes us hungry. I have found a sure fire way to keep myself from eating certain foods, I just convince myself there is rat meat in it (like hotdogs)! and I won't touch it ugh who wants a rat on a stick? And the medical industry is right up there with the food industry, you know the "food and drug" industry..... those meds make a person huge! Before my hysterectomy I was a 110lbs soaking wet cute little thing, got sick had a hysterectomy and then the drugs they gave me oh you want to talk about getting fat fast I doubled my weight in just 3 years went from weighting 110 to weighting 220, and now because of PREDNIZONE I am a wopping 256+, I can see why obesity is at the top of the death chart.
