Mine took 6 months to the day from initial request from PCP to surgery date. It is a good thing I can eat cheese, because it is one of my main staples. I love cheese, and don't have a problem with that or any other dairy product.

Hi I am a 36 year old female, weighing 300 pounds and 5'8". I am thinking about the GBP surgery and looking at all my options, the good and the bad. I have read quite a few of the postings and have become curious on what type of testing everyone is talking about any information is greatfully appreciated

I think time between referrals and surgery is a case by case thing, insurance, pre-op tests, classes, etc. I expect to have my surgery in Oct. As far as depression, I have suffered with depression and an episode of bi-polar disorder (which makes my psych diagnosis actually bi-polar) all my life. It is hell. Please get to a psychiatrist who is able to prescribe antidepressants and get to therapy, too. Antidepressants are safe, commonly used and have made all the difference in my life. With them, I function normally, without, I am nothing but a puddle of goo. I fully expect to take them the rest of my life.
