Default My wow moments!

So..... on the spur of the moment, my best friend, my daughter & I decided to fly to New York (Manhattan) to do Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving. It was soooooooooo great! My first wow moment was the fact that I fit comfortably in the airplane seat! My second wow moment was that I could buy clothing in the "normal" size sections of Bloomingdales, Saks, Lord & Taylor, and Macy's! My 3rd wow moment was that I was able to walk all over manhattan from morning till midnight, carrying shopping bags without being winded! My 4th wow moment was ice skating in central park! The 5th wow moment was coming home after 4 days of vacation and losing 5 lbs! NONE of this would have been possible 8 months ago before I had my surgery - all I can say is WOW - just WOW!

Thumbs up Awesome Wows!

You are doing awesome and I am glad you encountered all those wows.
I think of you often, we share the same date just a few years off.

Neat seeing you go through the hoops and fun loops of WLS.

Enjoy every "wow" that comes your way.

Thumbs up Woo Hoo!

Lori - Congratulations on your wows! I can certainly relate to the airplane seat one - I went to Ft. Lauderdale for vacation last month and for the first time in I don't know how many years, was able to buckle the seatbelt without an extension! It sounds like you had a great trip to NY, and you've certainly earned it!! Keep up the good work!

Default Deja Vu

Reading about your time in Manhattan was like deja vu for me. I also took a trip to NYC a few months post-op. I remember what it was like to feel how you described. The "wow" moments....I like that description.

I still remember ordering the lobster at a midtown Manhattan restaurant and how my husband didn't even seem to care that I left a lot of this very expensive dish on my plate. He has always been a great support to me. (Although I bet he would at least say something about this now!)

I am so happy to hear about your trip. You are truly able to live now!
