Question long insurance battle and I have won

I have to admit it hasn't been easy, I have been fighting the insurance company for well over a year and even ha to go clear to chicago for a second opinion . Now that I have won the first half of the battle I am terrified! I want this surgery in a bad sort of way, my medical conditions would greatly improve, not to mention I would feel so much better Is it normal to feel the way I do? Is it something that others have gone through. Then I have concerns on, how will I know what I can and can't have???? I have been through the dietician counceling and all that stuff, and I know I have to have a ton of protien and all, but what if I mess up and eat the wrong thing not thinking ... oh man what to do what to do!!!!

I know what you are going through! I am just 18 days out and I had serious second thoughts! I almost left the hospital the day I showed up for surgery! You have to look hard at yourself and decide if this is really what you want. Consider your health and how the wls will affect your current conditions. Only you know what is right for you! Now, since I am still pretty new to all of this I can only answer from what I have read here and heard from others. You got to follow carefully what the doc says to eat. Also, everybody is different. What you can eat after surgery maybe different from someone else. People tolerate foods differently. The only problem I have had so far with food is Cream of Mushroom soup made me sick, but Cream of Asparagus goes down just fine. People have little set backs and eat the wrong things and get sick. Then you know not to do it again! You just have to listen to your body and the doc. I'm sure you'll do just fine! Good Luck!

Default Suzeq,

"Is it normal to feel the way I do?" Absolutely!

"Is it something that others have gone through." Insurance = Alot have. Those that have I hope will speak up. I was very lucky. Emotional = yes! I cried and was excited, I cried and was scared, I was miserable in the body I was in, I turned it over and was then comforted that this was the right thing for me. I wish you peace as your date gets closer.

"Then I have concerns on, how will I know what I can and can't have????" Everyone is different. It's trial and error. If you try something new, try it first in the comfort of your home. It's a terrible thing to dump while out in a public place.
