Default Banded Gastric Bypass

Has anyone heard of this?

Well i never got my lapband i was denied so i found a surgeon in ramsey jersey and he thinks a banded gbp would work best for me...



Here is a pic of it. I got all my requirements done all i need is the surgery....

i go weds to talk to the surgeon wish me luck....

I could be wrong but is this the Fobi Pouch...band and bypass....or is the intestine bypassed in this procedure...hard to tell from the picture.

The pic you posted almost looks like a mini-bypass. I had what my doc calls a banded bypass. It is really a modified Fobi pouch. I have a RNY with a silastic band around the anastomosis between my pouch and limb. It is supposed to help stop stretching of the anastomosis, which is what causes a lot of the weight re-gain that happens with some bypass patients. You might want to ask your surgeon for a little more info, but if he called it a banded bypass, I think he's probably talking about the Fobi procedure or some variation thereof. Good luck!
