Default Halloween Candy...Night munchies...B12 Shot

How did everyone do with the Halloween Candy last night!?!

I am so glad to see Halloween done and over with! I love the Holidays but I have a feeling the food temptations are going to bother me! I've also decided as excited as I am about the Holidays this year...I hadn't better make my iced sugar cookies!

I haven't been having any real cravings or tempted with any of my favorites...breads, yummy bakery goodies or candies...until this last week or so! The goodies are starting to call/talk to me! I haven't given in...didn't even get into the Halloween candy! I sent the rest of it home last night with my grandaughters! They don't need it either but right now it's about grandma!

I'm also finding that in the evening I'm getting the "munchies" again and trying to take up some hobby that will keep my hands busy...and I'm not co-oridnated enough for knitting etc. I was thinking after the holidays and shopping for others...I might get one of those photo machine copy thingies and start scrapbooking of sorts for each of my kids, my mother and myself. If the ex-husband is nice, maybe I'll make one up for him too of the kids in their early years!

And energy...WOW! I haven't had this much energy in years and then some! So much that the other night I was bored and didn't care to watch TV so I went up to the gym and worked out til closing. Shortly after I got home, one of my son's calls and said he was getting worried...he called a couple of times and no answer! He couldn't figure out where I was since it was dark and I usually stay home 'cause my night vision/driving isn't all that great! So he was shocked that I went out after dark and then to the gym of all places!

Back to the sudden cravings/munchies...I know alot of it is old habit but does needing my B-12 shot have anything to do with it?! What exactly does the B12 shot do for you!? My last shot was around Sept 10th and I'm scheduled to get one tomorrow when I take my mother (80 yrs) in for her flu shot.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi Kathy --- I'm still pre-op so I stared at the leftover candy awhile before "digging in." LOL! Actually, I bought stuff I don't care for - so that went ok, and we don't have any kids at home anymore --- so I'm not looking for their stashes!

My paperwork was actually submitted TODAY to Aetna... so now I'm staring at the calendar, wondering if this could possibly happen before the end of the year... staring at the upcoming holidays and wondering if I'll be on my pre-op liquids... eeek!

We did not get as many kids this year as we did last year so lots of leftover candy. Tempting as it is, I don't think I want to feel the effects if I tried any of it. Read a few of the labels and my eyes could not believe how much sugar and fat could be jammed into such small little packets, hehe.

Giving away the rest of the candy to friends and family to dispose of.

I have managed to have pretty strong "blinders" on when it comes to off-limits food. (So far!) The bowl of Halloween candy sat there and I just kind of glanced disinterestedly at it once when I got home...and that's it. I admired it more for it's plethora of fun-looking colors than anything. I handed the candy out and made the little kids happy and didn't even think about what it was I was giving as food I should want. I was so proud of myself!!!

Cutting out sugar has not been that hard. Same with soda and caffeine (surprisingly!). What IS hard for me, and makes the "blinders" over my eyes waver and want to fall off, are foods like pizza and bread. When I'm around people who are eating bagguettes and ripping pieces off and dipping them in oil and vinegar...and...mmmmm! That is a bit harder for me. I miss my morning Everything bagel and cream cheese, too. Oh well! This is what I signed up for...and it is very early days yet!
