I have to agree. There is nothing wrong with feeling the way you are feeling. And honestly being able to speak openly about how you are feeling and your fears shows strength. Its shows more about you than you know.
We would never think less of you for feeling the way you do. This stuff is hard for everyone.

I'm so sorry that you are going through all that. Hopefully they can find what's wrong and fix it! I can't imagine living like that. I'd be pissed off too!!! You have a right to your feelings, and a right to demand some answers. I take xanax as well, and vicoden too! I was taking about 5 vicoden ES a day, but am down to taking it only when needed now. It's easy to get hooked!! I was only on it for a few months, but it was enough!!! I work for GI docs..and we deal with liver issues all the time..and if you are taking a lot of Vicoden, the Tylenol will damage your liver if taken in large doses. You don't want that nightmare. Take care and keep us posted.

This is how you eat.....
One bite at a time. Seriously... get something and put it next to you, take one bite. Wait 5 to 10 minutes and take another. Then sips protien with a few minutes and sip again.. Yes your entire day will be about eatign and drink, yes you will feel sick and yes it sucks.
This is how I live my life.... eventually you will find items that stay down, one bite at a time, you will find things that don't make you nauseous one bite at a time. It's a lot of work but it works....
I'm nto going to go into what happens when I eat but suffice to say,s ometime zi eat knowing in 10 minutes I'm going to be sick as a dog for he next 2 hours...but it has to be done or I"ll be in the ospital hooked up to IV with organ failure... that's lots more unpleasant than vomiting!
You have a time frame until Oct 16th to get to...use it well. Yesterday I manageed to get 72oz/80 gr of liquid protien down my gullet and a total of 1378 calories for the day and this morning I didn't lose another pound on the scale. I started at 5am and finally went to bed at 10:45pm but I got it done.
There was a time when I woke up and thought okay only anther 16 hours until I can go back to bed.... I woudl count the hours in the day until I coudl take a pill and go to blesssed sleep for 5 hours and not have to deal with the misery I was living in.
I know the pills are improtant to you but within 2 weeks of eliminatign those drugs, Xanax & vicodin from my life, the nausea disapated by over 50%. I coudl function for the first time in 9 months. Maybe if that's the defining line, taking the pills isnt an option then it's time to find a surgeon to reverse you.
You know I've heard great things about a couple of surgeons... Dr. Callery that started this forum, Dr. Namaan in Texas, Dr. Baker in MI and of course my original surgeon Dr. Klien in CA. The last one is a brilliant, gifted and highly skilled surgeon, just lacks bedside manner and compassion. Personally I dont' give a rat's bottom about his poersonality if he can fix this problem for me. IF not it's off to see Dr. Namaan in Texas or Dr Baker in MI.... However teh word ont he street is that Dr. Namaan is making noise about retiring...
At the risk of sounding harsh Laura, it's time to stop pissing and whinning, piss or get off the pot girlfriend. If you are serious about getting better then take action. Eat, find what works for you and eat it, taek the protien, I find it hard to believe you've tried EVERYTHING... I've tried literally 20+ out there and I hear about new ones everyday. I fortunately settled with Unjury and Isopure. Yes I know it can taste crappy...but sips of anythign aren't going to come back up. If you really wnat to live and keep yourself from goign into organ failure than do something about it.
If your surgeon won't give you a scope on 16th appointment then find a new surgeon, in fact start looking now.
Do what you have to do to stay alive... just do it, as they say in the Nike commercial

Yup I'm in total agreement with Paige, I have done the exact same thing as her.. I had to do the same thing when I was bypassed, literally have something in my hand all the time to eat! It's an extremely sucky position to be in.. however you are! So as Nike says JUST DO IT!
And I agree with paige about the vicoden, and xanax. I was on those meds too and when I got off of them my nausea level dropped tremendously. Reason that those drugs affect us so is that they are all absorbed in the GI tract, and can cause major nausea. If you read the blurb on most meds nausea is one of the first or major side effect of meds. You say you won't function without them.. well first of all taking them to pass out isn't a real good idea.. although I have to admit I took my night time sleep meds during the day a few times to knock myself out of my misery. Yes and that's what I thought too until I went and spent 10 days in rehab and detoxed from it properly. I am not telling you to go off it cold turkey, but this is something you really should discuss with a doctor! Janie
