Talking Walk From Obesity

I'm not sure if any of you have this in your area, but maybe there are some people in the Greenville, North Carolina area that would like to participate in this. I instantly filled out the online entry form and paid my $25 to be a part of the team, which so far there are only 2 of us. I know there are some people that might be in the area, but it's the last Saturday of September, which is the 29th. I know where the location is, my cousins have gone to school there, and if anyone is interested, it would be awesome to have some fellow WLS'ers from ThinnerTimes Walk. If you aren't anywhere in the area, there are cities in many other states that are holding walks. You can check for a city near you and join a team if you are intersted!

If you can't do it, if you would consider donating, that would be awesome! The main site to tell you all about the walk is www.walkfromobesity.com. If you click on Join A Walk then scroll down to GREENVILLE NORTH CAROLINA, it pulls up the walks in Greenville, my area. Then click on "Sponsor a Walker" and enter "Blair" as the first name and "Poole" as the last name. Underneath there is has my name and will take you to my page where you can donate. You can do it online, or if you would like to mail a check in, I could give you my address to mail it. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

This is the email I received from the guy that runs our support group.

"Hello Everyone,

We have started a team for the Walk from Obesity which will be held on September 29th here in Greenville at South Central High School. I am asking that you participate and/or donate to this very worthy event. To join TEAM ECU, either to walk or make a donation, please visit the walks main website at www.walkfromobesity.com. To join the team, select “Join a walk”, choose Greenville under the State listings, select “Register to Walk” from the left hand column, and then follows the direction. To make a donation, select “Make a Donation” and follow the direction on that page. If you are making a donation online and want the donation go towards the general team, not an individual, click on Team ECU inside the Team Rank box on Greenville, NC general information page and select “General Team Donation” from the top. If you have any questions or need help registering, please call or email me. I will gladly assist you.

Thank you in advance for your participation and financial contributions.

W. Paul McMillen, RN"

Thanks for reading this you guys. I'd love if any could participate, but if not, please donate.

If you have any questions or anything, feel free to send me a message!

Hi Blair, I'm in Michigan and I know they will also be having a walk in my area soon. I would love to participate but due to some plastic surgery I'll have to pass this year. I do know of several who participated last year and said it was a great experience! Enjoy the walk!

Thank you so much for your reply! So far I've raised $510 and I'm top donator, which is neat as far as that goes. But I'm excited about the walk. I hope it will be a big success. The only one I've ever done is the Relay for Life cancer walk, so I'm certainly anticipating this!
