Default Newbie here wasn't sure how this works

Hi all I'm a newbie here and wasn't sure how this works. Do you normally stay on one forum or do you go back in forth? Either way just in case this is a repost to the introducing me section:
Hi everyone, It's great to finally introduce myself. I have to admit I have been lurking for the last couple of weeks, but now I finally had to courage to actually sign up and post. I've been looking for a support group for WLS and somehow google eventually lead me here. I started reading some of the post and I see that everyone here is a very tight nit virtual family. I hope I can be welcome in because I know I am going to have so many questions and a support group is what will help me during my journey.

A little about me. I guess the first thing I should have mentioned is my name. Well it's Johanna great to meet you all. I am 25 years old, live in Miami, Florida, and will have my gastric bypass surgery on September 24. I've been researching the procedure and deciding whether it was right for me for the past year. I finally realized I need this surgery, and the moment I decided I was going to have WLS everything just started lining up for me. I found a great doctor financially able to do it and I have the support of all my loved ones including the support of my boss for the 2 weeks I will need off. I am just feeling a mixture of emotions but overall very excited. And now feeling a little relieved seeing that I found a virtual support group, because I am not the type to drive up to meetings. I hate those things it always feels like if the spot light is always on me. Anyways sorry for dragging on, really before I started this post it was really only suppose to be less than half of what ending up being. For those of you who have gotten to the end of this message thanks for hearing me ramble and I hope to be on this board as often as possible to be able to share and exchange thoughts and idea.s

Johanna:
Welcome!!! I am glad you are checking things out here. It is a good place to sort things out when it comes WLS. I would recommend trying a support group at least once. You will find people your age and who need your support as much as you need theres. We go monthly to our support group and enjoy watching the lifes of everybody there change. I come to TT everyday when I can to see how everybody is doing and then I tell Dorene what is happening. I have met Kittens at our support group but met her first on TT. You will find a great support group here. Read and ask questions about the postive sides and the negitive sides. Good Luck in getting to the next level.

Take Care
Jim and Dorene

Hi Johanna,
Welcome. we are truly a virtual family. Jump on in, you're going to want lots of information. Be forewarned, the next few weeks your emotions will range from excitement to abject terror and back to excitement again. Most of the time things work out wonderfully! Keep reading, and again, welcome!

Welcome and don't be shy with any of your questions. With a little searching you can find threads and posts on just about anything gbs-related or not! Feel free to jump from discussion to discussion. Ask questions on post-op even if you're pre-op, read what's happening in the lives of the long-term post-oppers so you can get a feel for what's coming in your life. It's all open to everyone at every stage of their journey.

Good luck on your journey!
