Arrow Long Time, No Talk

Hello all my fellow Losers,

I am back and to teach you what can happen after gastric by-pass. If you don't exercise, like me, or drink soda. Or even beer. I have gained back almost 50 lbs and it is not good. I really need support, so I am back here. I need walking partners in the East county. I really need some positive friends.

Well, the moral to this story is, it can happen to each and ever one of you. Take this seriously, it is a reality. It is wonderful tool, but it can go wrong, if you do not work on the real problem, why you gained weight in the first place. Please take this to heart. it is coming from mine and I don't want anyone to make the same mistake as I did. I oringinally lost over 140 lbs. I can still come back, but I am reaching out for help from my old time friends I have met in this group. Talk to you soon.

Mike

Thumbs up Mikey

Welcome back my friend. We're here for you!! Can you come to the support group on Thursday night? That may be a great start and you can meet some really great people from your area to walk with.

I for one appreciate you stepping up and showing us that we all can slip back into bad habits. That is a huge fear of mine. I wish I lived closer cause I would walk with you too. Maybe some Saturday we can find a 1/2 way place to walk?? I think even Suzanne walks at Lake Poway and stuff.. that's half way.

You took the first step, Mike.. now embrace us and allow us to support you and get you back on track my friend.. you can do this!! I know you can. You are not a quitter!

Mike,
Thank you for sharing this with us. It takes a lot of courage to open up to the "tough love" that can be seen on this forum. Thanks also for showing us that this can happen to any of us. Christina is right about the support group, it is a great place for encouragement and well, support. We also have an east county support group at my house in El Cajon on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. We'd love to have you there. I would be up for walks as soon as the doctor releases me to do that. I have a bum knee at the moment. Stay strong, keep your resolve and I look forward to seeing more of you on here....!

ok. First off the reality. Although you have become an example of what not to do. Try not to reinforce that with comments like I'm back to show you that.... yadda yadda. It does you a diservice. Right now you need to get back on the ball and take care of yourself vs the example of failure. ok that's the ugly part.

Gained 50 pounds eh? Pretty scary stuff isn't it? You are back here reaching for help so it must be rattaling you a bit. Make sure you're calm and not stressing too hard about it. It certainly isn't over. You need to re-evaluate your situation and find out where you are weak in your program. Once you can identfy those in detail then you can focus on some time of plan. I think I would list the weakness' and strengths of your program in detail and adjust the weakness'. If I were to try to give opinions or suggestions right now it would be a stab in the dark. You wanna share a little more?

Big hug for ya bro. I've never gained my weight back but the fear is certainly always there.

Oh yeah also one more thing. When I was going through the process, you were totally there for me. You helped me in so many ways and encouraged me, answered all of my questions, and were just a great friend.. so it's time for me to return the favor I'd say!!

Default Walking

I'm sorry to hear about your weight gain, however you came to the right place to get the support that you need to get back on track. I live in East County, and I am willing to walk with you. Pam and I have gone to Granite Hills High School to walk. We go every once in a while on Sundays. I can and will commit at least one day that I will walk with you for as long as you want. Let me know when you want to get together to walk. I also go to 24 hour fitness, so if you're interested in that let me know.
We are here for you!!
