Default OMG Starbucks tried to kill me

I ordereded the usual...Decaf venti iced coffee with SF cinnamon dolce.

I was in a rush and after adding my milk and splenda drank it down in about 20 minutes. I got in my car and was driving and OMG the dump from HELL. That was not the SF version. I looked at my cup and it didn't say SFCD on it..only CD. I heard him myself say SF.

I can eat carbs, but simple sugar, like in syrup, I am so sensitive to. I think 6 pumps has about 30-40 g of sugar in it.
I called my hubby to talk me through the next 10 minutes of driving, laid down, sweats, palpitations, diarrhea and here I am like a bright shiny penny ready for another cup of coffee.

I will check and double check the sf thing forever.

Eep Dyann! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm with you on the simple sugars. I'm still very wary of drinking starbucks.

Default I can see the headline now

Death by Starbucks will be a great headline. Starbucks is too perfect it was only a matter of time before they killed someone. I can't believe that happened to you. It will make me look twice as well

Thumbs down

I am glad you got through it OK. I just have not gotten to the point where I trust anyone but my wife and I for food prep. It is just the type of thing you had that I fear.

Thank you for sharing..

Oh God Dyann!

That happened to me this morning as well. I'm in a training class today (photoshop), so I picked up a drink at a Starbucks near the center and they didn't hear me right or something.

I didn't start drinking it until I got to the classroom. I ran out and spent the next half-hour in the restroom. Staff kept coming in to see if I was alright. When I got back, I had to explain to the class what happened so no one thought I had the flu or something.

Oh how embarrassing!

Lordy, Dyann, that was a nasty experience! I've had to give away a couple iced decafs from Dunkin' beacause I was in a hurry to get to work, got there and found they got it wrong. The old adage is true "Buyer beware!"

Ouch! I have had the same probably one time - with regular hazelnut instead of sugarfree. I didn't notice until I was in a cold sweat. Glad you feel better now!!

Hmmmmm.................so sorry you went through that. I had a similar experience too. I got a sample of a really good chai tea drink at a local coffee type shop. I asked the girl if it had sugar added....she said nope, so I order a big old mug of it. Later I had a feeling she was wrong. I looked next time at the package and here it was a pre-mix with TONS of sugar......I guess by sugar added she thought I was asking if SHE added sugar.....OY!! Now I will also be wary of Starbucks and watch closer.

I am SO SCARED of that too. I always check my cup and sometimes if the staff seem unsure, I make them repeat it back to me again. One of the reasons I stick with my normal thing. I always have to check the milk to make sure its not non-fat as I dump unless I have the fats.

We need shirts or a headband with SUGAR SENSITIVE or our Starbucks drink in writing...bad Starbucks....but hey, I still be there!

So sorry you had to go through that...but hey, your tool still works!!!
