Question Splenda preference

Why does it appear that Splenda is preferred over other sweeteners? I have always used Sweet N Low. Just curious.

Thanks.

Sweet n Low could possibly cause cancer if taken to excess. (I think it has an aftertaste, JMHO.) Equal (Nutrasweet) does not work well when heated- can turn bitter. Splenda has no known/documented side effects, and you can cook and bake with it easily. Splenda is my drug of choice.

I use Equal...can't stand Splenda or Sweet-n-Low. We all have our preferences

I use tons-o-splenda each day in coffee and bake with it and the lower sugar splenda brown sugar mix. Sweet n low to me is cancer in a bag (especially in the quantity I would use) and tastes bitter to me. JMO

Splenda really does taste best to me...but I try really hard not to use it. I just don't think it's been tested enough. Google it....and you'll be shocked at some of the stuff you read.

Splenda is made from real sugar.. hence, the lack of an after taste, or a bitter taste.. I cant tolerate equal or sweet n' low, but I LOVE splenda.

Very interesting! It just seemed that most posts I read related to making drinks etc. the sweetner of choice was splenda. I guess I just wanted to make sure the choice wasn't related to GBS. Thanks for the responses!
