Honestly I was expecting much much worse. It really isint all that bad even with my groin hurting the way it is. I can get up and get around alright it just takes longer to do everything since I have to go so slow.

You will do just fine gina im convinced since we workout so much our bodies are in great shape and capable of dealing with this no problem. You will be up walking around the hospital just like I was i have no doubt.

see ya tonight...have fun shopping.

Just like Zen, I want you to take notes, Gina! I'm still treading water here waiting for my insurance company to make up their mind so I don't expect to go before August. We shall see. They told me they will hopefully have an answer for me early next week.

You'll do just fine, Gina. I'm sure of it!

Gina,

I think there is a big difference between the GBP and TT/BL. First of all...the boobs didn't hurt AT ALL for me. Implants hurt more. The pain is a different kind of pain. This is a more pinching pulling and is positional where with the GBP I was just all around uncomfortable. I would recommend having a few things handy such as MOM or correctol in case of constipation. Take your pain meds liberally. A body pillow never hurts. You will be up and around much sooner. I think there is just a low level of discomfort that persists a bit longer than the GBP, but overall the pain is less. You are a much smaller person so moving around is easier etc.

You will be great and a flat tummy is just such a wonderful thing.

I am so excited for you. Make sure you take before and after pics!!!

Gina, I'm so excited for you! This IS really gonna happen! Wow.....this year has flown by. I have a very good feeling you will do just fine. After all, you always refuse to accept anything else. I can't wait til it's over and hear how your are feeling about your results. I just know you will be thrilled!

P.S. Laura, your surgery will be on my b'day so it MUST be a good day!

Yipeee Gina. I remember your OPEN RNY and how quick you were up and doing things....if this is anything like that, you will do great. You are so strong and thats really gonna help you through this.

Don't forget to take the pics and measurements.....pre/post op. I found the measurements to help me figure out how much swelling was happening.

Will be thinking of you this week. Love ya girl!

Best wishes on this next step in your journey. Any surgery is scary business and you have every right to have some jitters. But I know how prepared you are and how ready you are to have this done. So, normal pre-surgery willies aside...you will do well. I'll keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery with no complications and an easy recovery. Keep us posted.

Default You guys are so great!

Scented lotion - good idea!

And yea Lisa - I cruised through the RNY, but again, I had been in the gym for a while and was a very in shape Mobidly Obese person. And my surgeon is absolutely brilliant. His friend is doing my plastics - I hope they're friends because they are equally brilliant!!

And John - thank you - you have given me so much comfort. I'm going to a Harry Potter Party until after midnight, but if I'm at all awake, we'll touch base.

Dyann - I already told you how much you inspire me. It is still true several hours later...

And everyone - your words of comfort are working - I feel pretty brave right now. I know I'm pretty spunky, but not sure if that is enough to get me dancing off an operating table after 6 1/2 hours. That remains a LONG time to be under.

I'm pretty good with pain, which I can insist after my acupuncture today. I even complained and he laughed at me. Said I'd be fine. Thanks...

Yes - I hope all will be well. Pre-op is Monday, which is nothing to how excited I am about visiting Jen. Hmmm. Wonder if I should swing by Keith on the way home too...??
