Default How important is it.....

I am almost nine months post op and have lost 93 pounds so far...I feel great,,except...I can not get in all my protein everyday...how important is it that we get in those protein grams every day? I take my daily vitamins faithfully and I feel like I get enough to eat, but of course everyone around me says I don't eat enough to feed a bird. I have to admit that I am lacking in the drinking area also...I sip on my vanilla latte most of the day and have very little water or anything else for that matter....I notice by the end of my day I'm so tired and I am wondering if it is a lack of protein, water etc....what do you guys think? Any suggestions??
thanks!

Hi Barb;

BIG congrats on losing 93 lbs.!

I believe it's a combination of both. The coffee can dehydrate you, so you need to get your water in (you need it anyway) - probably more during the summer.

The protein is also important. When you have your meal, the rule of thumb is always protein first. What has your diet been like? Only you can determine if your getting all you need. But, if you are having trouble getting in the protein, look for a good shake suppliment. I still haven't found one my pouch likes, and their is a wide variety to choose.

You need the protein to help you heal properly, avoid sagging skin, and avoid an aging look and of course lots of other stuff that you can't see on the outside.

Try to get plenty of protien and plenty of water.

I've been really good about drinking decaf only,,,and it is latte so it is made with non fat milk...I've heard that they are fairly high in protein...I do drink a vial of whey protein that has 25grams of protein in it and I need to do that everyday,,,but sometimes I forget :-(
I always try to eat my protein of my meals first....meats, then veggies, then carbs if any...I really need to work on the water...that's my new goal,,,drink more water :-)
I've been really good about not eating sugar,,,I eat SF everything....I think I'm doing ok,,,but sometimes I just wonder if I'm doing it all right or not...
I've been pretty lucky so far,,,skin isn't too saggy and I think I'm ok with the looks of the new me...I just worry too much I guess about things that I shouldn't be worried about!
