I wish I could offer a suggestion as well, but I'm too new to the Ontario area...and I had my surgery in California

I'm pretty close to Brampton, only about 2 hours away in Cobourg. We plan to be getting a house in Markham, as Andrew's job is in Mississauga. Who knew Ontario was such a small world.

Ah that explains why I wasn't able to get a hotel room, all the hotels/motels in the area are booked up, between that and my family (we have roughly 30-50 people) there are no rooms. Guess I get to crash on the floor of my parents' hotel room, lol.

Regarding wait for surgery at Barix in Ypsilanti, when I had my initial consultation at the end of June, the surgeon told that if I had everything done (doctor note, etc.), he could take me at the end of July.

So the wait at Barix can be as little as one month. Plus you don't have to wait for the initial consultation. The day I first called them, they asked if I could be there in half an hour!

Yea they said the same thing to me, but I cannot get a day off work sadly until August 28th.

But, yea, they told me that as soon as OHIP approves me I could have the surgery within 1-3 weeks time.

So, here is hoping my family doctor is quick to submit paperwork, lol.
