Default Eating on the road

I am leaving for vacation in about 3hrs

Does anyone have any ideas on what to eat on the road. I don't really want to do McD's or any "burger only" type places. Do you have any suggestions on what I could take with me. We do not have a cooler

Oh my... well you might have to stop on your way and GET a cooler!!!

You can bring protein powders and/or packs of NSA CIB along-- that way if you get anywhere near a convenience store, you can grab some milk and shake up a protein drink... if you get a cooler, you can bring some LF cheese sticks, containers of SF jello, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.

Are you eating ground meat yet? If so, you could probably do Wendy's chili. I think McDonalds might have chili, too-- but I haven't been to a McDonalds since surgery, so I don't remember! other than that, a lot of places serve soups, so that's another option. (Just watch out for chunks of meat/veggies in the soup, obviously.)

Seriously-- STOP AND GET A COOLER. You never know what you're going to find to eat "on the road," so better have stuff you KNOW you can eat (and not dump on) than to be at the mercy of the fast food joints...

Starbucks has little cheese trays and a latte and that is a protein packed lunch. Wendy's chilli is always a fall back. Taco bell refried bean burrito and eat as little of the outside as possible.

My first real solid food was sashimi...it has a high water content and an ounce or two will do just fine. Just chew well.

Have a good trip
