Yeah. There is a thread (don't know if it's still active) talking about the show in the socialize discussion area.
I've found the show it pretty interesting.

I enjoyed the first episode....but now find myself bored and fast forwarding. I want to see them showing the other parts of the journey........relationships, life, depression, activities, etc. They seem to be stuck on the actual surgery and the plastics down the line. Maybe it's just me?

I found myself listening carefully to the answers the one woman (Rosa?) gave to the psychologist -- what are the "right" answers? Rosa was obviously very depressed, and the psychologist's evaluation played a major part in her being denied insurance coverage.
I am, by nature, very happy-go-lucky, and I tend to see everything through rose-colored glasses. I am worried that I'll seem to "happy" at my evaluation, and that the psychologist will make a recommendation that, "Ruthann is very well adjusted and should be able to lose weight through conventional means."
I want to be honest in the evaluation, but I also want to make sure my surgery is covered! If Rosa knew the "right" answers, maybe her surgery would have been covered, too.
The one man who was 750 pounds was sent to a long-term center -- wasn't that the place featured in another Discovery/TLC show recently? The Brookfield Center, or something like that? I recognize both him and his wife.

I felt terrible for Rosa. She was so desperate and the possibility of surgery seemed to be the only thing that she had to hang onto.
As for the right answers to the psychologist's questions... the right answers are simply the honest ones. Be yourself and you'll be fine.

Here its been on for 4 or 5 episodes. I saw the first 2 and then last night. Very sad about Rosa, but I don't think she is mentally ready for the surgery yet, so I hope she persue's it with her insurance and gets the coverage.

I felt bad for Rosa as well... But all things happen for a reason. I hope for her sake she accesses some sort of counseling or therapy to work out some of her emotional issues.
It scares me when some people have this surgery and are so emotionally unprepared for the after-effects... like people who "self-soothe" with food, which you simply CANNOT do after surgery. If someone's primary method of handling stress is to EAT, then what are they supposed to do when they can no longer do that???
Like I think they said in this episode-- if a person can't commit AT ALL to a pre-op weight-loss regimen (like with Rosa-- she GAINED a pound when she was supposed to be on the liquid diet), they're not going to be successful after surgery. In that case, surgery could potentially be dangerous, way beyond the basic medical risks.

When she gained a pound after being on the liquid diet, I had a feeling she wasn't 100% committed. The doctor said a couple of times on the show that he wants her to lose weight before the surgery. At Taco Bell, she ordered enough for 4 people!
She'll eventually get approved, but I hope this was a wake up call for her. As we all know, this surgery is not a magic bullet, but a tool.
