OMG you gynes! (PC for women guys) You all can make me laugh about the ugly stuff happening to my body! Thank goodness it's not just me.
I had a hysterectomy and removal of 1 1/2 ovaries at 38. Let me tell you, that little chunka ovary has done right by me these last 15 years, bless its little heart. Now with the "fatty estrogen" gone and being 53 years old, I do believe I have begun my change. I get these hot flashes out of nowhere, and you really can feel the heat radiating out of my body! Michelle tells me she can just hear my little ovarian peanut sputtering and burning out.
I think of a light plane running out of gas... then its gone just as casually, only to come back a couple of hours later...My skin is so dry, I lay claim to being the only "ashy" white grrl....totally with you on the suckin' up of lotions and oils...you CAN hear it! As for the chin hair thing, I kind of know where they all are, and kind of keep a lookout for them, and you're right about the white ones. When I worked, if I was feeling my chin during a meeting (trying to look wise and contemplative while I was really looking for terrier hairs) and I found one, there went the whole day--I would obsess until I got home and could yank it out. I'd know right where it was because it was red from me feeling it for half a day. What a boob. The igglepootious thang....got me there.
Thanks for a good laugh at myself! The only woman in my family to go through menopause was my mother--literally everyone else had the plumbing yanked before they got there. My mom like woke up one day, quit bleeding, had 3 little hot flashes and was done with it. At like 43. So my making it to 53 is a new family record, and makes me really glad I kept my little chunk of ovary!
