I had the same type of reaction to my steri-strips at about day 4. I asked about it and they said it was the skin being irritated by the strip pull the 2 sides together since the redness was only under them not surrounding them. I toughed it out and by day 8 they had loosened up a bit and stopped itching.
I did notice that the scar under the one strip that came off first is my worst scar. The ones that stayed on longer are much smaller and better looking.
