Beth, I'm sure she was VERY envious after you told her you did have WLS. She's was probably thinking she wishes she looked like you!
Missy, I'll bet ya I can take the worst looking arms trophy. I will never be able to wear even a normal short sleeve shirt until mine are fixed. (If that ever happens) It's so hard to dress in the summer when you have to find something that comes down lower. All the cute clothes have shorty short sleeves and they just don't do for me. I have been wearing my quarter length sleeves that I worse during the winter. I know people think I'm crazy, but they'd rather think I'm crazy that see what is hiding underneath, I'm sure! Just curious, my left arm seems twice as bad as my right. Have any of you experienced this? The right arm will do pretty good, but the left has this roll of skin that just flaps over itself on the inside of my arm when the skin is hanging down. Ewwwwww......

Thanks guys. Yeah, it takes all kinds and though it floored me that she asked I really was ok with it. I had picked up down in the coffee shop that her husband was having wls. She had stopped to talk to family in the coffee shop and announced that they were able to do her husband's bypass. They don't do heart bypass at my hospital campus so I knew she was talking wls. I guess they had run into some major difficulties and the doctor wasn't even sure he could do the surgery at all so I suspected she was stressed. One of the reasons I started up a converstation with her when I saw her later.
I just wanted to know who had posted the sign on me!!!
hehehe...one thing I've noticed about myself lately is that comments about my body just don't seem to bother me as much. I guess I wear my war scars against MO with pride.

We're gonna have to have dueling arms! I still say mine are worse, na-na-na-na-na.
If you are right handed, the muscles get used more and the arm is smaller. Mine are that way too. My left upper arm seems to be divided on the inner side into 2 sections. There's an actual crease. Section closest to my arm pit hangs down the worst. I have to have sleeves that go down past it or they ride up and get stuck in the crease - looks like it's cutting off circulaton, but just stuck in the crease - kinda like stuck in the butt crack!
I have to wear elbow length sleeves or longer, never shorter. The few times I've had short sleeve or tank top under a suit jacket or other top, and removed it due to severe hot flashin', I could see the stares and all the eyeballs go right to the awful hunk of hangin', flappin', swayin' flesh.
It's better than being 82 pounds heavier and unhealthy enough to die early. I will have them done, I'm hoping. At least they bother me enough to want them done. I don't think you can top my butt-crack arm! Hehehe.

I just developed a most interesting looking picture in my head, Missy!
We'll have to compare arms when you get here!

People are odd! I am pretty "chatty"...but would never just ask someone if the had WLS....and then chat about their arms??? I don't think so!!!!
It's just wrong!
My Mom has the "arms" and she's never had surgery. She just did Atkins and several other diets and lost over 100 pounds, and gained, and re-lost, and re-gained, and so on and so on and doo be doo be doobie!!!
Well, OT, I want to say how much I appreciate the recipes you post with photos. You are so sweet!

yea, I did find the whole conversation with her rather odd but, oh well. I do have "the arms" but I'm just gonna have to live with them. I know I've seen much worse than mine. I just couldn't believe she picked up that I had wls just because of my arms!!! She must just be so self-conscious about her arms that she looks at everyone else's.
I'm glad you are enjoying the recipes. I like to post the pictures if there happen to be pictures with the recipe when I find it. It just gives you a better idea what it will look like.
