Dude, was it sugar -free though?? I see you say it was fat free and honestly, I don't eat enough fats to worry so much about the fat content of foods. We need some fat in our diet. It's the sugar, though, in the yogurt that could cause you to barf. For isntance, Yoplait Original 99% fat free yoghurt has 27 grams of sugar in it. If I ate that, I'd be kissing the porcelain God or go into one of my "sugar comas" within 20 minutes! Dannon Light & Fit yoghurt has 7 grams of sugar in it. Also, because it has 0 added sugar, the sugar content comes from the actual yoghurt. Just trying to save you from another dump session!!
At 5 months out, I like to eat this yoghurt with a 1/4 cup of mixed nuts mixed in it. Yum!

Glad to know that you made it through ok.
I'm curious though, others have said they never have dumped but the symptoms thery're describing to me are all parts of dumping. Getting sleepy, sweaty, rapid heart beat, sick to your stomach, throwing up. I don't always get all the symptoms either. Maybe we all just react differently and interpret what we're feeling? Confused.
My two biggies are sugar and fats (especially anything deep fried). I dump big time if I eat more that one tiny piece of fish, or (and remember as far as my pouch goes I'm almost 5 years out) if I eat more than a half of a candy bar within a 1/2 hour. I know I'm not supposed to be eatting it anyway, but sometimes a girls' just got to have a little chocolate.
I wish you the best of luck figuring out waht you can and can not eat. I remember though my surgeon said one week you'll be able to eat something then the next week it can make you sick. Just bear with it, it will all come together. Good luck on your journey.
Sharon

Kitty, Sharon -
Your right, it was the yogurt. I didn't even think to check the sugar content, I just saw "fat free" and that was that. I had some today, and the little guy started grumbling. After I saw your posts, I checked the sugar content and was absolutely shocked!
The yogurt is history!
Thanks for the wake-up call, I need to pay closer attention to the labels! DUH!

Hey All;
here's a few pics I hope you find entertaining.
The first are the "undies" Donna and Michelle gave me, when the visited me in the hospital. Can't wait to lose enough so I can wear them! Thanks again guys, your the best!
The second is me displaying the doctors work. I'd say it's a rather clean job. My wife kept wanting to attach magnets to see if they stick!
Funny story. I went to Dave and Busters Saturday with our son and an old friend. I had my bottle of crystal lite, and the guy at the door said I couldn't bring it in. I told him I needed it because I recently had surgery. He rolled his eyes and said, "yeah, sure". So, I lifted my shirt and showed him all my glory! I brought the bottle with me.
The third, for those who don't know, is a "spirometer." Very fun and entertaining. It measures your lung volume. I had to use it 10 times every hour. Be prepared for dry mouth every time you use it! There are different models, some of you may not even get this wonderful device, but wanted to share anyway. I understand this helps prevent blood clots forming in your lungs after surgery, helps prevent pnuemonia, and reduces infection/white count.

Not to worry, SuperPat! You'll be in those smokin' chonies soon enough!
You do really have to read labels at this point. When they take the fat out, most of the time they add sugar in. Fat is what makes stuff taste so good, so they have to augment with sugar to keep the flavor saleable.

Tummy looks great!
Once your scars turn white you'll hardly be able to see them. I have had all mine open and look like a jigsaw puzzle. But you know what? I'm still going to be comfortable enough someday to were a two piece (well in my own yard anyway). Looks like you're healing nicely. Keep the progress pic.s coming.
