What Song Relates to Your WLS Journey?
I got this off another board, and thought that it would be fun to start it here.
Here's mine.....
The song that relates to my WLS journey is "Are You Ready" - Creed
" Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Count down to the change in life that's soon to come"
WHOO HOO!!!! Look out 2008 here I come!!!!!
*hugs*

Song
SHE BELIEVES
I’m looking deep into my own reflection
I see it’s never looking back at me
When did I lose the connection?
Am I looking for what might never be?
She doesn’t share the same problem
Her vision’s sharp, her will is strong
My dreams they keep on dissolving
Maybe in the dark is where I belong
But…
(Chorus)
She believes, she believes
She believes, she believes
I'm looking down at my own existence
Is this where I’m supposed to be?
The closer that I get to the distance
It seems it’s just out of reach for me
She doesn’t doubt for a minute
It's all so clear, somehow she knows
Why can’t I see when I’m in it?
I can’t hold on, I can’t let go
But…
(Chorus)
She believes, she believes
She believes, she believes
She doesn’t doubt for a minute
Her mind is clear, somehow she knows
Why can’t I see when I’m in it?
I can’t hold on, I can’t let go
But…
(Chorus)
She believes, she believes
She believes, she believes
She believes, she believes
I want to know, I want to see
I want to know, I want to be
What she believes
I want to know, I want to see

this is going to sound sooo corny, but remember that song by wilson philips?
'someday somebody's gonna make you wanna turn around and say goodbye' would be my insurance company lol...
'things will change things will go your way if you hold on for one more day'...would be my drive and desire and my friends giving me strength to deal with the hoops and make it to where i want to be!
in another mood...i'd probably say my post op song would be 'i'm too sexy for my shirt' lmao! just kidding!

I love topics like this....lol
For my weight loss journey? I'm on my 2nd divorce (goin down the only road I've ever known), and I haven't "had" the surgery yet so I don't know where I'm going...but I DO know where I've been.....yes I do know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams and you're damn skippy I ain't wasting no more time!
It would have to be "Here I go again on my own" - WhiteSnake
I don't know where I'm goin
but I sure know where I've been
hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time
but here I go again, here I go again.
Tho' I keep searching for an answer
I never seem to find what I'm looking for.
Oh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on
'cos I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams.
Here I go again on my own
goin' down the only road I've ever known.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time.
Just another heart in need of rescue
waiting on love's sweet charity
an' I'm gonna hold on for the rest of my days
'cos I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams.
Here I go again on my own
goin' down the only road I've ever known.
Like a hobo I was born to walk alone.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time
but here I go again, here I go again,
here I go again, here I go.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time.
Here I go again on my own
goin' down the only road I've ever known.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
'cos I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams.
Here I go again on my own
goin' down the only road I've ever known.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time
but here I go again, here I go again,
here I go again, here I go,
here I go again

Took me a while
Truly, been thinking about this one for DAYS. Not every minute, but the fact that I didn't have an easy answer startled me. I love music, and respond to lyrics...but this took a while. Anyway, here's my answer, the song is from Bon Jovi.
IT'S MY LIFE
This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for faith-departed
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud
It's my life
It's now or never
But I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life
This is for ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky
Got to make your owns breaks
It's my life
And It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live when I'm alive (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life
Better stand tall when they're calling you out
Don't bend don't break, baby don't back down
It's my life
And it's now or never
'Cause I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live when I'm alive (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said "I did it my way"
I just want to live while I'm alive
It's my life
And it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live when I'm alive (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said "I did it my way"
I just want to live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life!

It's my signature, and one of my favorite all-time songs:
Well I’m just an old chunk of coal
But I’m gonna be a diamond someday
I’m gonna grow and glow till I’m so blue pure perfect
I’m gonna put a smile on everybody’s face
I’m gonna kneel and pray everyday
Lest I should be convened along the way
I’m just an old chunk of coal now Lord
But I’m gonna be a diamond someday
I’m gonna learn the best way to walk
I’m gonna search and find a better way to talk
I’m gonna spit and polish my old ruff edged self
Till I get rid of every single flaw
I’m gonna be the world’s best friend
I’m gonna go around shakin everybody’s hand
I’m gonna be the cotton pickin rage of the age
I’m gonna be a diamond someday
Now I’m just an old chunk of coal
But I’m gonna be a diamond someday
I’m gonna grow and glow till I’m so blue pure perfect
I’m gonna put a smile on everybody’s face
I’m gonna kneel and pray everyday
Lest I should be convened along the way
I’m just an old chunk of coal now Lord
But I’m gonna be a diamond someday
I’m just an old chunk of coal now Lord
But I’m gonna be a diamond someday

Rodney Atkins "If You're Going through Hell"....
refrain:
If your going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there
