buying clothes
Ok, so I was shopping today at Walmart. I had to buy a few thing's and my husband mentioned that I should look for some clothes while I was there. What ever, me look for clothes no way. I hate clothes shopping. Honestly.... So i go through the sale item's because not only do I hate to shop but I am very cheap. I look at shirt's that are extra large and some large and think to myself no freaking way is that going to fit me. The thing is, I am in that size but to look at it hanging there I just can't imagine I fit into that. I am drawn over to the plus size's where i've been forever. Nothing is going to fit me there but it is my comfort zone. I honestly have no idea how I am going to successfully shop and actually get the size's that fit me. Of course I wouldn't have had this complaint almost 5 month's ago. It is like I have been asleep for years and have woken up to find everything around me has changed and I am in a different world. If that honestly makes sence to anyone.

Shannon,
It totally makes sense. We all go through that same realization. Things are changing, it's hard to keep up because they change so quickly!

I know what you mean
Last night I was at walmart I had to pick up some things for my sons, I walk past the mens dept. cuz I admit ima tom boy to the fullest and I see these really cool sweats um I think they are Starters they are really thick and they were only 9 bucks on clerance well i got a 2x because I thought to myself I have never even been a 2x in my life so I get them well when I got home I tried them on, I have to take them back cuz they are too big.. I have to just get the L or XL I cant belive it. So I know what you mean sometimes our eyes are still fat, meaning they still see the old us but gradually that should change right?? Anyways I hate shopping to but I must admit it sure was a nice feeling to know that I have to return them and pick something smaller out...

Clothes shopping
Now I am a size 8, and I still have the problem with clothes. I always have to look at the tag... if i just look at the item, I always pull out something two sizes too big. It takes awhile for the mentality to catch up... I have always been a big girl my whole life. So I dont expect my brain to catch up anytime soon. I was explaining it to my co workers.... it's like losing an arm. Even when someone's loses an arm, they still "feel" the arm there... its the same thing with my fatness... I still feel fat... I still think fat. Im sure with time, encouragement and plenty of therapy I will get use to it. i have neemn at goal since I was 8 months out.... to lose 129 pounds in 8 months is amazing... its going to take awhile to adjust.
Always try the clothes on right away. I lost a size every 6 weeks.... I skipped size 20 even. Buying new clothes can be a drag, but there are plenty of us with extra clothes and I shop thrift stores... even now. I like the hunt of finding a great bargain, but whats really cool is now I can buy stuff I LOVE... cuz Im not going to out grow it! Your journey is an exciting one, I am so proud of you girls! let us know if you guys are in need of clothes and what size and we'll come a running..... talk to you soon.

Too Sweet
Your such a sweet person Bridget. The only problem for me still is that I am six feet two inches tall so most clothes you gals where if I put them on the crotch would be about where my knees are..lol...But its cool I still have a ways to go i am 298 right now and I should weigh 190-200 pounds cuz im so tall well thats what the doctor tells me so I have a ways to go yet. But if you know anyone with kids I always am cleaning out my kids closets cuz they grow like weeds especially my 5 year old he is already over 4 feet tall and 95 pounds he grows like and inche a month i swear so if anyone has kids from size 2T-14boys sometimes I have stuff so just give me a shout....

Shoppin
My suggestion when you go shopping take a friend, or two. When I had to go buy some new stuff I took my bestfriend. I tried everything on then she would look at it see that it was TO big, and then ask me what the HELL was I thinking. It looked right to me, because that's the size I always wore. I also still go to the "womens" size, because that's where I went for so long, and that's where I feel I need to be, but I'm wrong and I know it I just can't sink it in to my thick head. Hopefully someday I can see the smaller girl.

hi all
my comp. is broke, so I haven't been on much, Gavin (my almost 3 year old)spilled water on my keyboard and it is malfunctioning. I'm at a friends right now. I'm tall too. 5'10" None of my clothes fit anymore. So I totaly understand. I like the I love capris and its all good but to find pants that are long is another story. I am down 61 lbs and I had my lap rny on 11-15-04. I have some 28 26 and 24 if you need some clothes. I'm needing 22 and 20, I'm a little losose in 24 right now.
