Default Mine's gone!

I've had too many surgeries through and around mine and the Dr.s said the same thing if you try to keep it and there is blood loss then we have to go back and take it out anyway. I said why bother with the scar tissue I have already just take it. I tease my husband every now and then lift my shirt up enough to show where it use to be and say "Honey, can I get my belly button pierced?" LOL He dosen't like piercings. Caught him off guard a couple of times. Makes me laugh. Don't sweat it sounds like youv'e already made up your mind. It served it's purpose and has none now. Besides if you wanted to wear a two piece why couldn't you get one of those stick on jewels? Humm?? ?? ? Good luck with your decision.

My doc never asked....just made me a new one. I like it....felt like it would be creepy not to have one. But I likely would have tattood where it should have been! I will say I have no problems with my new one, but did with my old one both pre and post-op....but mainly after my weight loss. Almost like the skin folded it shut.

Hi Lisa. As far as your belly button, I don't have one (removed from another surgery about 12 years ago, doc said that he couldn't give me good odds of not having another hernia if I kept it, so off with it!) I sometimes miss it, but then I think what do I miss? The smell, or the itch, or the chapping? I have always told my hubby that I want to get a tatoo of a rose in its place when I get down to my goal, maybe that is in the near future! The funny thing is that my hubby says that I wasn't born normal, but hatched!!!!!
Seriously, don't keep it, you will do fine without it.

I'm with the group that says "I would feel funny without it". Wow from this poll though there are quite a few who say go with out.

Hmmmmmm I'll have to think about this one a while. Didn't know that was an option Lisa with the panni.

There is a show on tv called "Kyle XY" He doesn't have a belly button. Search it online and see pics (of course it is the wonder of hollywood makeup) and you can see what an abdomen looks like without it and you decide. You may not be a bikini wearer now, but you will be. My stomach hasn't seen the light of day ever and even with all my swelling I bought 4 bikinis in the last two weeks. All skirted of course but little triangle tops. Never say never.

Thank you all for your replys...I am so undecided about this. In many ways I think it will look funny without one, and on the other side, don't want the smelly belly.

Ok, I am gonna go surfing the net in search of "non" buttons!

Red face Miss Lisa~

I voted to keep it,however I am an "Attached" type person. When I look down at my belly button I think of my Mother...(Awwww)It was our first real connection.I have been called weird before but I know I would miss my Belly button.

Can anyone relate or do I hold the new "weirdo statement" on the forum

Interested in what you end up with or even without!!

V

PS~I still have my sons umbilical cord in his scrapbook(the part that falls off at two weeks)..albeit shriveled up...Nick is 10...YUCK! I know but I already said I was a little on the strange side.
