Music
I know this is a WLS forum, but music has really helped me through a lot of things and my surgery was no different. I know if may sound weird, but I get encourgement from the music. The song lyrics sometimes just seem to be speaking to me. I don't know if anyone else like that or not, maybe I am just plain weird. A few bands have really made a difference this last year or so, and I wanted to pass them on to you guys. None of them are 'big' name bands, they are more the local guys (but not local to me). I usually don't really promote things like this, but they are good. All 3 have completely different music.
Alex Skolnick Trio - jazz, with a rock twist. Alex actually has written some stuff for Ozzy Ozbourne, and one of the songs is Goodbye to Romance, which was a big hit for Ozzy, but only done in a jazz guitar thing, very cool. Great music to just sit and chill out. www.alexskolnick.com
Chris Caffery - goes between rock and hard rock. One of my favorite songs he does is NOT for kids! It's called "Pisses me off". When you are having one of those days and the pouch is hating you, and you are hating it, it just lets you get it all out! He also does one called "Music Man", one line in it is "Music Man will set you free". It's great when you are feeling good and you feel the weight gone, and you just wanna be free! www.chriscaffery.com
ZO2 - old school rock. These guys are just great. Very down to earth, Very Very cute (a little to young for me, but I can still look!!) They just signed a record deal, so they are getting up in the world. Their songs are just plain fun! They are just plain fun! www.zo2.com
Thanks for letting me share.

Shows
If anyone would like to go to an Alex S. Trio show with me, I'm still searching for someone It's this Wednesday in Buffalo, NY. I'm so excited to finally be meeting them in person, I am driving 3 and half hours in the middle of the week, just to see them! It should be great, a relaxing jazz show to chill out in the middle of the week. My sister comes into town that day, I was going to try and talk her into going, but she has a 3 hour plane ride from Texas that morning, so I don't think she will go.

WLS Music
You are absolutely right that music can help us through a lot of things. My tastes vary greatly and I like just about every type of music. I enjoyed the Chris Caffrey and Z02 links you sent. I haven't tried the other one yet.
Lately, a song I like is "Out of my way" by Seether. You have to crank it up though!
It kind of sums up how I feel about people who are trying to talk me out of the WLS. Here are the lyrics....
Out of my way
Out of my, way
[Pre-Chorus]
I can’t pass up this opportunity to make myself absurd,
I can’t pass up this opportunity to let myself be heard.
Would you, like to, be the one who sees me lose this all,
Would you, like to, be the one who sees me fall.
[Chorus]
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
You like to think the worst is over now, but you cant breathe at all
You like to think you’re owed a favor now, man you’ve seen it all
Did you, want to, be the one who pushed me off the wall,
Did you, want to, be the one who let me fall.
[Chorus]
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
You can’t hold me down..
You can’t hold me down..
You can’t hold me down..
You can’t hold me down..
[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up son, I’m doin’ this my way
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up, I’m doin’ this my way
Nobody’s gonna stand in my way
Give it up, I’m doin’ this my way
Out of my way

They are all in their early to mid 20's. Young is ok, they are fun, I will admit that! But the one guy David (very nice looking, long black hair) was asked what his favorite animal was, his reply "Dogs, becuase I am one", When asked what his favorite condiment was..."Lifestyle, ribbed, oh wait, did I read that wrong?"
