Default What ! Lose Weight To Lose Weight

I recently went to my first appointment with my surgeon, I weighed 473 Pounds and she told me I would have to lose at least 50 pounds before she could operate on me. She gave me a RX for optifast and I wanted to know where I can buy it, besides Bariatric Advantage- They are out of stock ? Is there better liquid diets out there that you guys know of? And If you had a similar situation and how long did it take you to lose the weight (and how much) using a liquid diet ?

If you're in a hurry to lose that 50 than Optifast is the quickest way. No food.. just liquid. Either 800 or 1200 calorie plan. My brother did this diet twice and both times lost a hundred pounds in 3 months. He's also fatter now!

It is actually quite common for surgeons to require a 10% (or some number) weight loss prior to surgery. 1. It makes it easier for them to maneuver their equipment through your insides. 2. It shows your commitment. 3. It makes you that much healther before going under the knife.

Google Optifast and see where you may be able to purchase it. Good luck.

My surgeon said many of the super MO need to lose 50 or more pounds simply becasue there's a weight limit for the tables and chairs, even the special made ones for the MO. Most hospital stuff has a limit of 450. A few creative places borrowed equine vet equipment.

My doc told me I didnt have to lose a specific amount of weight.. but the nutritionist gave me guidlines and he said if I DIDNT follow them. he would know. I am down 31 pounds since Feb 8th... AND they moved my surgery up 2 months because of it. It is important to reduce fatty liver.. to get your liver to shrink before surgery, because most of the procedure is done behind the liver.. and you dont want complications due to that. SO.... Losing weight to lose weight is really for the best.. and at 473, you will be surprised how quickly 50 pounds falls off you! Good luck.. keep us posted!
