Everyone here totally amazes me
What type of person has what it takes to make a decision to have a surgery where you know conciously you will never be able to eat like a "normal" person for the rest of your life? A surgery where your natural body organs are shortened, stapled off, and basically recreated.
People who have lost their job over this.
People who have lost their spouses, boyfriends and girlfriends.
People who have lost friends, many of them longtime friendships.
People who've refinanced their homes to pay for this.
People who have had to plead, beg, and steal and borrow moneyl to have this procedure.
People whos family turned their backs on them when they needed support?
People who take a chance that their sleep apnea, asthma, type II diabetes may go away (and there is no guarantee).
For a lot of people, this surgery is a choice, not necessarily a life saving procedure. I've seen the hell people have gone through just to have, and have had WLS.
You are my hero's. The Bridgett's, Marie's, John's, Bigggdave's, Daniboy's, Marie's, Kim's, Whitney's, and especially the extreme one's such as the Donna's!
Your all hero's in my book. Having done this, what makes any of you think you can't do what it takes and be the success we all deserve?
Very few things impress me more than someone who takes their life in their hands and do what it takes to make their life better such as fighting for WLS.
In spite of all the pain, frustrations, depression, the complications and emotional turmoil wls causes, I have never met anyone who said they regretted having wls.
That is an incredibly powerful statement, and says a lot about that person. After all they've gone through, they would do it again. How can anyone not admire, and respect a person like this?
Am I sounding melodramatic? Perhaps. but these are my true feelings. WLS is far from an easy thing to go through - but you did it willingly.
So, let me ask you something. You used your personal power to have wls. You studied, learned, asked questions, and made a huge personal decision.
What could happen if you focused that same power to other aspects of your life? What do you think could happen? Personally, that sends a chill down my spine. If some of you were to pull together to achieve a common goal, what do you think could happen? Can you imagine the power that group would have?
Think about it.

I love your posts patrick. You always make me think. As for what we could do if we pooled our power together, I do believe we could acheive world peace damn it!
Seriously though, we can make MANY positive changes in our lives. We know now what were are capable of... what we were always capable of but were too afraid to even think about even attempting.
Patrick, I can't wait to see you on our bench hon.

Pat....
You always amaze me!!! I just can't wait until YOU are on the loser's bench. This post is so truthful and it hits home with me. I went through a lot to get to where I am today and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The power is here...the power that we all share as being MO and having to fight all of our lives. I believe we all share that bond and always will share it.
I hope that you have your surgery soon. Your positive attitude and willingness to fight is so inspirational. Thanks for being you, Pat

Pat you amaze me how well you can put things into words. You have hit home with some of the feelings and situations that surround having this surgery but I wouldn't change my decision for anything. Thanks for reminding me that I will be a stronger and more confident person in the end.
I am looking forward to the day (very soon) when I read that your surgery is scheduled. Big celebration at TT.

Patrick,
I too can't wait to see you on the losers bench. You deserve it.
Your post also hits home for me, it was inspirational. I know that after my surgery I had a huge growth from the inside out. I know today that ANYTHING I want in life is in reach for me. Don't get me wrong I have my down days but then I look in that mirror and see a whole new person.
An aunt of mine recently contacted me and she was asking me questions about the surgery and why I did it and how and etc..and I simply told her for me personally it was an easy decision, I wanted my life back. I watched my father die from being MO. Those were the saddest days of my life watching my father who I was soooooo close to suffer because he was addicted to food and nobody understood him. When my father passed away I stood at his funeral and said to myself. Dad, no way am I going out like you, I am making changes in my life now. And days later I was researching and scheduling surgery.
I love it when I hear my mother say, "Renee, you are amazing, I wish your father could see you now and I wish he could have lived to see your success so he could of followed in your footsteps". She also says, I always thought people who had the surgery were taking the easy way out, I thought they just lost the weight, but after watching you struggle and taking every challenge head on, the surgery is amazing and so are you...
So today I know, like every person on TT...We are all strong and everyone here is a inspiration to me!

I read what you what and reread....
From what I have seen on this forum...when someone is hurting, happy, venting, down, in pain, can't eat....eats too much, doesn't eat enough...
Now matter what the problem or post people from all over jump and offer support. Sometimes the person who writes the post...can't believe so many people care. It only takes a second to answer a post and it means so much.
In the short time I have been on here the people I talk with mean so much...We share everything and it is cool. A place to go a place to replace the food, comfort and love.
So to answer your questions I think together we can solve problems, comfort people in need, get tough when we need too, love, laugh and handle because of the concern from others WE CAN HANDLE WHAT EVER COMES OUR WAY...because we know we have people who care and truly understand!
In a few months when I start getting my health back I hope I remember the feeling you inspired deep in my soul...and I can get back to life and live it...where ever that road leads me....
Thanks my friend!

Your awesome brother
You want to know what I find equally amazing? Your tenacity!! So many people have came here, started the good fight and were denied, only to walk away with their tails inbetween their legs. You my friend, have been denied, and denied and denied again. What you wont do, for yourself and your family, amazes me. I find some much strength and inspiration from your, "never say never" attitude!
Your also patient, so many people have been there for you, then turned their back on you over the dumbest stuff, (the same holds true for me) but you never say forget it Im outta here... you continue to stay and continue to inspire and encourage people to never be a quitter.
I appreciate reading your kudos so very much. You have touched my heart. You are a very dear man, and I appreciate your friendship, guidance and leadership very much. Your a scholar and a gentleman, thank you for always being there!
I cant wait to have you on the losers bench... there will always be a reserved spot with your name on it!
Thank you Pat, for being so..... Pat
Love always!
