Default Psychologist causing delay - just venting

Hello!
I just need to vent a little bit... I had my last required appointments prior to submitting the insurance last week and was excited to be to that point. In the nutritionist's class, the instructor asked who had the other requirements completed and I said that I did. A woman in the class mentioned that her husband had the surgery 4 years ago and that he had a lot of trouble getting the psychologist to send his report to the surgeon. As we talked about it, we realized that I had gone to the same psychologist a month earlier.

I contacted the surgeon's office and found out he had never sent my report/clearance to the surgeon! I called the psychologist and he said..."ummm...I guess that hasn't come back from dictation yet." Aaargh!! So, my insurance preapproval is still not submitted because this dufus has been sitting on his report for a month. Thank goodness it wasn't a coronary bypass that I was waiting for!

Now I'm going to have to call this guy every day until he gets so sick of me, he sends it in. You would think a psychologist would understand the emotional aspect of being held up for something like this.

Anyway...just had to vent a little. I feel better now.

If you have to call more than once. I would say.. "Let me tell you how I am FEELING.. since that is YOUR cup of tea.. I am FEELING like ...."

I hope he doesnt sit on it long! And cant wait to hear your date!

what an unprofessional jerk he is ... you should make sure your surgeon knows .... they might want to refer patients to someone who gives a crap? these psych evals are a waste of time anyway IMO just another way for someone to make a few bucks off of someone else

good luck

Default Great suggestions!

Thanks all!
Yeah, he is definitely not in touch with my "feelings" Ha Ha! I'd like to get him in touch with my boot! LOL

I chose him because he was local and he had me do that 500 question test before he would see me. My surgeon has a few that he uses in Sioux Falls, that do not require that at all and it sounds like they are very prompt.

I thought saving the three hour round trip was worth going to the local guy...but I guess I lerened my lesson.

Thanks again for the support!

Thumbs up The surgeon has it!

I called the surgeon today to see if it arrived and they said it was coming out of the fax machine at that exact moment!

Now it is up to Blue Cross and I am really thinking that it will go through. I meet all of the criteria on their published requirements, so I don't know how they could say no. Of course, we are talking about an insurance company here, so I trying to temper my enthusiasm.

At least it is in process now...so hopefully I will hear something soon.

Thanks for asking!
