I think after a belt it is a bit more difficult as you can't ever get into a position where pressure isn't on an incision. My ass is saggy, but I can't see it so I guess it bothered me less. As a surgeon, I know there are greater risks with increased operative time and placing a patient prone (face down) in the OR and I weighed those risks against how much my butt bothers me and the scales for me tipped into not doing it.
Here are two lateral pics. I still can't seem to wash off all the damn adhesive from all the bandages. I think that crap multiplies. The pen he used to mark me up pre op I think is permanently tattooed into me. I am a bit timid in my scrubbing in the shower so hopefully when all the steri strips come off my skin will look better.

I'm going for the belt, knowing the risks and post-op torture because that hanging down part you had in front, I have all the way around. NICE!!
I'll be under for 6 hours...Terrifying really, but like my GBP surgeon, he's never lost a patient so I think I'm in good hands. He has a team of people in there that do this pretty often. He's been working with my GBP surgeon for 10 years and his work is pretty impressive. I've seen photos and live people.
What is so funny is that my initial worry was that I'd be so big, they wouldn't be able to turn me safely. Duh - I'll weigh like, 165 or 170 - think they can handle that!
So we'll see how it goes. I'll have to do the photo post thing too - but I may wait until the drains are out.
Of course, when I see him April 17, he may tell me to lose 20 more pounds first and I'll be waiting for a long time yet. Maybe till next summer!
Thanks again Dyann.

Oh Whitney, I would love to see your scar as I am having the same procedure as you and we both had open GBP. Hope you are feeling great...can you stand up straight now? How is your core strength after being cut there again?

Whitney...if you can email me your pics I can crop out your face and genitals and resize it for posting. I think it is important for the "anchor incision" to be seen as well. You get much more lateral results in a waist than I do with just the up and down.
BTW...my belly button was reconstructed also. It is the same one, but the opening was moved so a new one was created.

Amazing is right! Wow! You look awesome! I always thought I wouldn't do plastic surgery..just because I don't like pain...and don't have $12,000 laying around.....but after seeing you, it's very very tempting. You really didn't look bad before...but after....well, it's just going to be a lot easier for you to pick out clothes in the near future! I think a flat tummy and perky boobs are every womans dream....probably every guys dream also! lol! You are living the dream baby!!! Way to go!!!!

Thanks again for the kudos. My real motivation in posting the pics was that pics I saw on the internet (before and after) of GBP patients with TT/BL and some that were not GBP patients were scaring the f%^& out of me. These were from MD website that you would think they would place their best example out there. So I did want to allay fears/concerns others may have when it is such a huge financial and physical investment.
I was happy with the pick of my surgeon, but you never know as each of us are shaped so differently. I thought I looked good in clothes pre TT, but I was tired of stuffing myself into body shapers that came up higher than the jeans, and rolling my boobs into bras with a weird fold or crease that happened at the top once they were "in place". My thighs are still there and can be concealed easily. My tummy is flat, but there aint no 6 pack there. I can see, down the road how one can be addicted to having things nipped and tucked. You do get a little high just like with the weight loss. We all just need to be realistic in our expectations.
At about three months I will post again pics so you can see the changes as they are daily with this.
I really appreciate the level of trust and comfort in this forum

Dyann, once again thanks for your honesty and willingness to be so open. I am struggling with the desicion to continue p/s or not. Like you, the thighs ae an issue and I did not do the breasts. I am financially not really up for another 10k, not to mention if I'm even up for more surgery. The p/s addiction is mild for me, but I still ask myself almost daily, should I?
My spouse does not want me to have any morre surgery so that also helps, he has been through alot, also. It is difficult being the loved one.
keep posting oics, you'll see the most changes in the next few weeks.
Thanks again,
R
