Default Celery & Carrots

Okay, the other day I eat some raw carrots and they did not stay down. Yesterday, I was making my tuna and (like I have done for a month) chopped up some celery. That got me thinking, WHY can I tolerate raw celery but not raw carrots. Come to think of it, I tryed raw carrots early on too, and they did not stay down. Does anyone know?

I don't think there is an explanation for it. Your pouch doesn't tolerate carrots. My pouch doesn't like to eat at all. If it doesn't kick in fast I'm gonna starve to death. I'm down to almost 108 lbs. 5'6 and about 10 lbs of skin.. but I'm skin and bone. Everytime I eat anything it's instant nausea.
Been through the tests, and has been determined I have nerve damage from the surgery. I suppose I could be angry and pissed and stuff.. but I'm just trying to find a solution to the pain, and nausea problem. Doctors gave me every medication for nausea, none worked. Finally they put me on a drug called marinol. I take it four times a day morn, lunch, dinner, bed and I have had no nausea for three days since starting this medication. They give it to aids, and cancer patients on chemo. So I am pretty happy about the results so far, never thought I could eat again without feeling sick. J

I think the water content of celery is higher so maybe a little easier to tollerate.
We were not allowed to have raw veggies for 3 full months.

Marinol has the active ingredient of pot which is supposed to give you the munchies.

Yes Dyann, Marinol is THC, without all the smoke and stuff. It works better than smoking it actually for the nausea because I'm not chasing it. Before I'd eat get sick smoke and feel better. This I take four times a day and when I eat I don't feel nauseated so no chasing. I am 30 lbs underweight and I can't say that marinol has given me the munchies, nor MJ when it was smoked. Marinol is absolutely necessary for me to be able to work as well, as I can't pass a drug test without it. Otherwise they think I'm smoking it, and I fail. So for the most part yes it's pot but I have no side effects like feeling high, paranoid, unsteady, etc. It takes care of the nausea and vomiting and that's all I care about. It allows me to eat. And my insurance pays for the pills. I take 120 pills and they cost me 35 dollars co pay compared to the actual price of $943... so I'm blessed. Janie
