Default Long term outlook

I know I will need it and with the amount of weight loss many of you have had, I was just wondering about bodylifts or tummy tucks. Dose anybody have any ideas on the price ranges, recovery time or any good Dr.'s.

I have about 2.5 inches of skin 3/4 of the way around my mid section and want it gone but will wait until the weight loss stops and I plan out to what I will maintain.

Smile I had it

I had a tummy tuck and thigh lift in November of this year. My surgeon is J. Timothy Katzen, he is in La Palma and Beverly Hills, CA. 714-562-4053, if anyone calls, tell 'em Bridget sent ya!

My insurance covered everything, but the EOB that was submitted to blue Cross for the TT and thighs. Including surgeon fees and OR times was $41k, Im not sure how much things would be on a cash basis.

My recovery was good. I went back to work after 10 days off... I feel as though I have a high pain tolerance though. I didnt feel it was very painful, not as painful as people were telling me it would be. I hear and felt that the thighs are the worst of all plastic surgery.

I hope this info helps, let me know if you have any more questions!

Default Plastic Surgery

Bridget,

You mentioned in your post that your insurance covered everthing but the "EOB". What is the "EOB"? Why did your insurance cover everything else?
I have heard that insurance normally doesn't cover these procedures.

Smile Hey Cheryl

Surgery will cover it, if its medically necessary. My Plastic Surgeon, took pictures, wrote a letter and then talked to the medical director at Blue Cross ehrn they initially tried to get authorization. When picking a plastic surgeon make sure you go to one that will request authorization from your insurance, just bring him/her all of your medical documentation regarding rashes, iritations, etc....

An EOB is an explanation of benefits, it is essentailly a copy of the charges that the hospital billed and how much the insurance actually paid and how much you are responsible for after all is said and done. Insurance companies (if you have PPO insurance) send this to you so that your Dr doesnt turn around and bill you for charges that you arent responsible to pay.

Jey RRK: 3 months, that's it for Blue Cross. I know this because of the denial letter I received from them for my breasts to be lifted... they denied it and right now I have no documentation showing any type of treatment, so I had to let that slide but my Dr tried anyway.... he gets an A for effort I tell ya! Also, once your Dr submits the request for authorization, Blue Cross has only 10 days to approve or deny. I had my answer within a week. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to ya buddy!

Cheryl: no problem sugar pea!

Hey RRK, I sent you an email a while back and got no reply. I wanted to let you know I am only 35 miles away from you. Was wondering where you had your surgery done?
Thanks, Mike
