Default Hamburgers

My husband went to A&W today to have a teen burger. Its a double patty, cheese, bacon, onions, mustard, ketchup, 2 slices of white bun.

(for those who don't have A&W, you could compare it to a burger king or I guess McD's.)

I joined him but just had a coffee. He was a little upset that I couldn't have anything..I was fine with it. When he got the burger, I thought...hmmmm maybe just one bite. I took one smell of it and "no way" not even going to taste that.

Many foods now I just have a good smell and thats enough for me - I like to smell the husbands beer, chocolate, roasted nuts...etc.

I am thinking that maybe in the summer, I will make my own patty, add grilled onions, hot sauce and bbq - have without the bun.

I really thought I would want a taste of it, but in so many ways glad that I didn't want to.

Anyone have experience like this with a food that you used to eat?

Oh, how I love this tool!!!

Default Yep, I get it

Lisa, my friend...I so get what you're saying.

My husband broke down and begged me to make no-bake cookies tonight, something I used to do regularly, and we would share them. They're chocolate, peanut butter oatmeal cookies made with butter and milk, and he loves them. As did I. I did make them for him, but was never even tempted to lick the spoon.

Partially because I knew I used 2 cups of real sugar... but mostly because THEY DIDN'T EVEN SMELL GOOD TO ME. I could smell the cooking sugar, and it turned me right off. I love this tool, and bless the day I it was given to me.

I still froth at the mouth when I smell a McD's cheeseburger and FRIES but won't even think about eating more than ONE fry. That is enough.. cuz they don't taste that good anymore. They just smell soooo good.
I have some Omaha Steak burgers here. I've had three of them. I put one oz of cheese on top and then dunk it in A1 or worcestershire. Won't touch a burger out anywhere though. Tried once, at Fenway park lol, it wasn't pretty!

I used to be a huge fried chicken, hamburgers and fries gal. Now, I look at those things and they look so greasy it turns me right off. I honestly have no desire to eat them at all. I do make my own hamburger though. My family loves hamburgers. I use extra lean ground beef and eat it without the bun. I put it on a slice of tomato, add some onions, low fat cheese and mustard and I'm totally satisfied. I honestly don't feel like I'm depriving myself even though my family feels bad for me, I don't feel bad for me at all!

I also am finding the smells of the foods I used to LOVE to eat make me nausous now, so far this is a good thing. I keep saying h how I wish I could hace a double double from in and out, but when I drive by one now its not what I remember. Still want a Steak though, prime rib with tons of horsradish, yummmmmm. I cant stand the smell of ground turkey raw or cook, I just gag. Guess we are all into this healthy stuff more than we thought we ever could be. What a blessing from God, and my Surgeon. Happy Valentines all!!!!!
