Pregnant
Hi,
I am almost two years out. Down 150. I was not fertile (as most women) when I was 300+. One of the reasons I had bypass was to eventually have kids, and health (like a lot of y'all). I am a little different than most in that I could careless about looking thin, so much that I feel like I don't fit in at these forums, and I drop out like I did last time. Well my dream came true and I am pregnant. I am due April 15th 2007, and very excited. There's not a lot of info out there about bypass and pregnancy other than horror stories of women getting pregnant too early. Well so far I have gone through somethings I would like to bounce off other pregnant women. So I am asking if anyone is pregnant, or has had kids after bypass. I need someone to talk to, please respond. Thanks.. Leigh

I think I have seen at least 7 people on this forum who've been successful at having kids post bypass. Denise I think is the most recent.

Second on my list of reasons why I had this surgery.. so I hope you get lots of info.. know there is at least one pregnant on the board, and one that has already had her daughter.. GRATS on the pregnancy.. How have you been feeling?? Nutrition harder than you thought? Baby healthy?? You waited a good amount of time (my doc said once I have the surgery, wait 18 months before trying)

Congratulations!! I have had three kids but none of them post-op, so I am not going to be much help. I am so totally excited for you! Do you know what you are having, boy or girl? Not that it matters they are all just the best little things in the world

Me Too
HI Leigh,
I am currently one of the ones that had GBS and pregnant. I am 15 months post op from surgery and 20 weeks pregnant, I am not due until June 2007. I have had 3 previous children before surgery and this time around it has sure been different and very worrysome if I might add but so far I am doing fine. I haven't gained much weight around 6-7lbs but all my health professionals say I am doine fine and baby looks great. If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me. Congrats on your upcoming bundle of joy! Renee
