I'm not really sure why a chewable would be necessary... I will admit, I was panicked the first time I took my first pill post-op, but they really are tiny... I had no problems with it whatsoever.
Also, what's with them marketing the chewable as a time-saver for women on the go? Doesn't it take longer to chew something than to just swallow it?

According to my OB, the chewable birth control pill was origainally marketed for younger girls - like Flintstones vitamins, but for birth control. My OB is involved in a clinic program and sees lots of real young sexually active girls - she said that most of the girls hate regular BC pills and just won't take them, but they don't have the same aversion to chewables. Scary.

CNVH, did your dr. not tell you that you need to find a different form of birth control after surgery because of our malabsorption issue? Mine told me that the pill has less of a chance of working after surgery and is not considered a logical and dependable method because the surgery decreases the efficacy of the pill. I know "I" wouldn't want any surprises. Would you? EEKKKK! If you didn't know about this, maybe you should ask your doctor.

STill having the same issues Rain? When did you go on it? I had a cousin who goes in 3 or 4 times a year for a shot.. and that totally stops her period... she gets it for like 3 or 4 days when the new shot happens (or just before.. ack.. cant remember)
