One of the reasons I got fat was I am "exersise resistant". Count me in! 5x this week I will work out with the bands and the pilates "Ball-o-Death".
Thanks Gina, this is a great Idea.

OOO add me! Add me!

Ok well I got a Gazelle this weekend, so I commit to doing 30-45 minutes on it this evening (trying for a heartrate of 130+). I did it a while yesterday and am really surprised to 'feel' it today. It isn't a 'hard' exercise and while I felt more fatigue in my biceps/triceps as I was doing it yesterday, I feel it in my calves today (big time)! I can deal with an exercise that doesn't feel like it's killing you in the process that you can feel afterward...I'm all for that!

I will do 30 minutes on my treadmill 3 days this week. It's a busy week or I would try more but it's a start anyway. I'm also trying to cut out the diet coke. I'll go down to one every other day. (Not quite ready to get rid of it all together yet!) A friend who had the surgery suggested it be one thing i try to do too.

I think that's a pretty good start for a weekly goal. Thanks for the challenge Gina.

I think its wonderful soo many people are participting in this and setting goals for themselves.

What I hope is you don't come into the thread and state a goal if you aren't serious about recognizing it. Set a realistic goal for yourself knowing you're scedule something you can really do. There is nothing like setting a very un realistic goal for yourself that you know you can't meet. Then at weeks end when you haven't realized it and you don't make it. All you do is feel bad.

We aren't here to make ourselves feel bad. Set real goals for yourself and really go for it.

I'm in too.
I plan to actually visit my gym for the first time! And yes, I've been paying on it for a long time. Hasn't helped me much . . . I wonder why????

I will use the eliptical twice this week at the gym. I will use my bike twice this week for 25 min too.

Would you pretty please elaborate on this?? I tried to PM you but your box is full... I was surprised to see such a glass half empty post from you!! You were one of the people that motivated me to get off my fat butt and excercise again.. and I am really hoping I am overreacting to this post.. and reading what you say wrong..

John's right, I want it to be a realistic goal, I'll say 3x and then if I do more, that's ok too !

hmm yeah I think you may be reading too much into it. I want people to be real with their goals espcially in the begining. I don't want someone to read my goal or gina's or someone else like lisa all of whom have been working out for a long time and then set something for themselves that isint fesable and may be harmful.

I started out slow just like everyone else did. Its like the whole saying "crawl before you can walk". Someone has already posted in here "im not making any promises" while they are making their goal. I read that and crinched. If you aren't serious about it don't post it. Don't set yourself up for failure. This is my message.

Set yourself up for success. Set a goal you can reach and when you reach that and feel good about yourself. Set a new one. So on and so forth. I want to encourage you to reach high. I just don't want someone reaching too high and hurting themselves or not reaching their goal and getting discouraged and then quiting.

I think its great that sooo many people have taken to this. Its fantastic. I just want everyone to stick with it. And if you get discouraged early you might not stick to it.

make sense? I hope so.

*edit* I also wanted to add. I'm one of those gung ho people. I just go for it but, when it came to exercise and a healthy lifestyle I was never that way. If I was starting out on a bumpy road dealing with so much already...getting me to start would have been very difficult. And if I didn't see the results I wanted I prolly would have quit. Im a very different person now. So my post go's out to all those like me.
