Bruising?
Does anyone else have issues with bruising - I am absolutely covered in them. I think my friends are starting to think DH is knocking me around!

I think low in iron might do that, but not sure. I've always bruised a little easily.

You are correct. When your Iron is low you bruise a whole lot easier.

Me, too
I went thru a period where I bruised easily, too. Probably it lasted from post-op for about 6 mo. Kind of when the hair loss was significant, too.

The brusiing is fromt eh extra estogen in your system...makes the skin more fragile. Once you stablize in weight and get you hormones back in balance, it should not be as bad.

Iron for me
I noticed a lot of bruises and then found out my iron was really low. I've been doing the extra supplements for a month or so and now the bruising is much better.

Vitamin K is a required nutrient for blood clotting. It is a fat soluble vitamin...hence we don't eat much in the way of foods that have it and when we do we don't absorb it. Most multis don't have vitamin K in it. Mine is a bariatric vitamin and it contains K. Tell your MD and they can check you clotting parameters.

Yeah, I am severely anemic as well.. It was so bad they didn't want to do the surgery. Thank God I ate some foods high in iron a for a few days before the surgery and my iron count went up! Other wise I wouldn't have been going though this wonderful journey right now!
